They just killed the main group within the first 15 minutes of the movie.

Duke was supposed to be killed in one of the G.I. Joe movies of the past, I'm guessing that's where they're going with this.

Well he's alive in this one. And in the cartoon, instead they put him in a coma. They where trying to do what they did with Optimus in the G1 movie. But kids whined about it.

Really? Care to point out where it shows Duke, Scarlet, Ripcord, General Hawk, Breaker and Heavy Duty dead in the trailer?

And how do you know it's the first 15 minutes of the movie? If you got an advanced screening, come on, spill it, sister. Otherwise, wait for the damn movie to come out before you start complaining about everything.

Seriously? Go look at the "Michael Bay close to signing for Transformers 4?" thread then think about what you're saying to the people on this site... 8-} :BANG_HEAD: 8)

In all fairness, it's on every site.

Shadowman's desire for people to shut up is legit and I can't disagree with him. However, crap in one hand, wish in the other, see which one gets full first. It's kind of a losing battle and wasting one's breath is well, a waste.

I swear, people have it backwards. They blame the movies for lowering their IQ, but they never stop to think "Wait. Maybe my IQ was in the dumpster before this. I paid to go see it. I paid to go see the sequel. I did so several times. I even bought them on DVD and Blu-Ray. I scream, rant and rave about it all, like a caveman. Over a movie series about toys. I'm the one lacking intelligence. They're movies."

Now, if only they'd think like that. I'd actually agree with them.

Exactly, I don't see how a movie could possibly lower your IQ. If your IQ is challenged by a movie, that's telling me you have some doubts about your own IQ, which means nothing in the first place.

It's a turn of phrase. A movie was so stupid that it makes them feel dumber for having watched it.

To be fair, I only saw two of the Bayformers movies in theaters, and only bought one on DVD.
I do not blame Michael Bay for crapping all over a huge part of my childhood. He just directed the scripts that were given to him. I blame Orci, Kurtzman, and Krueger, who seem completely incapable of concocting a story that even halfway makes sense.

Okay. No one's talking about that. Someone mentioned a thread about Transformers 4, but otherwise we're talking about GI Joe in here.

NOt bad. Alot of unanswered questions, but that ok. Thats what trailer do.Was it just me or did those planes in the begining look like large versions of Cobra Rattlers? I know Joes wwere in them, but they had a strong resemblance none the less.
I like the fact that this time around thy seem to be portraying the Joes as an American elite task force and not a world type task force. Thatwas a big disapointment for me in the first movie.

I noticed that as well. Very strong passing resemblance. Glad I wasn't the only one who noticed it.

For me it was very inconsequential, I guess. But you're right. My guess is that- since in the other movie all the respective countries recalled their reps- the US may be the only ones still with a GI Joe force. I mentioned it before, too, that this trailer gives off a GIJoe: Renegades type of vibe, especially with Cobra apparently firmly in power.
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

I also noticed that it looks like we might also be getting a HISS type tank as well. In one scene it looked like there was a tank with the signatare high trangular tank treads. Also, that hovercraft also looks alot like a classic G.I. Joe vehicle. Kinda cool that there using some cool vehicles this time around (something else the first movie was seriously lacking)

I also aggree that this has a G.I. Joe Renagades feel. Wouldn't be surprised if that was part of the modivation for this film.

Yup. Its the Killer whale. That's one i never had when i was a kid but always wanted.
Speaking of classic G.I. Joe toys, though i never had it, i did have a friend that had the U.S.S. FLAGG air craft carrier. Talk about a beast of a toy! The only toy that i know of that could double as a coffee table. Sigh.. They just don't make them like they used too..

Epic. If I remember, it was about the same price point as Fortress Maximus was. I always thought that the Cobra hyrdofoil was cooler than the Killer Whale. Always liked the pop up missiles

You know you're on a Transformers forum, right? In any case, it's probably because Transformers is the more profitable of the two, that's why Hasbro gives it more attention.

From what i understand, the G.I. Joe toys pretty much bombed at the stores. I remember them being put on clearance pretty quick too.

I really hope this movie is good. G.I. Joe has sooo much potential. Maybe even more than TF.

Honestly, I never saw that many movie toys for GI Joe, even when the movie came out. There just wasn't that much to do...

As for comparing GI Joe to Transformers, it is an intersting comparison. The main difference is that, while GIJoe cartoons and comics largely disappeared from the late 80's until GIJoe Resolute and the new GIJoe Renegades show, Transformers revived in the early 90's with Beast Wars and really has not stopped to take a breath since then. THe general assumption then could be that the TF mythos is much deeper and more vast...but it is inevitable to draw the parallels. If you look at it, really the only toy line that compares as far as the vastness of its universe is Star Wars.
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.
