I'll go with megatron. As you said, he's not quite as strong, but he has his wits about him. Galvatron would burn up his energy too fast trying to take Meg out quickly. So Megatron wins. BUT...if we're talking about Galvatron right after being rebuilt by Unicron...That Galvatron could take meg.

Reciprocating Laser Cannon
I'll bet on Galvatron. To me, according to the movie, it looked like Megatrons fusion cannon takes longer to recharge, and is easier to dodge, while Galvatron can fire more rapidly.
Also, I don't remember Megatron putting together a laser pistol from random junk parts (that's one of the 3rd season episodes I love )

yea you got point if prime could easily dodge a shot and disarmed him, speaking of which galvatron's cannon is permanently attached to his arm, sorry megs my money is on galvatron

Yep. I gotta go with "completely off-the-farm insane" Galvy versus "genius intellect hampered by short-sightedness" Megs... I don't think the battle would last long enough to be decided by power rankings alone

Galvatron. We already saw it, as stated, in the UK comics. Even in the US Marvel series we saw it, although it didn't really play out as Galvatron didn't know what would happen to him if he killed his former self.

Something I always found funny is the question of exactly how much of an upgrade was Galvatron really? After the first shot he lets off, he can't reach that level of power again. And he takes a lava bath & emerges insane, yet the entire Decepticon army from Season 1 takes a lava bath & all emerge completely normal. What kinda upgrade can you really expect from a godplanet that easily gets holes kicked in them by Grimlock?

It is a theory that he had some kind of mental link with Unicron (with which Unicron could torture him in the movie), and when Unicron blew up, the phsychic backlash drew him insane.
