It could have been the best in the trilogy, but I hated Warrior Within's combat and Two Thrones used the same system. Sands of Time had the best combat in the series. Simplistic, yet extremely fluid.

JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Star Fox Assault (GCN)

The traditional railshooter portions were top-notch, but they put too much emphasis on the on-foot sections. it's also totally linear, unlike the first two games.

JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Final Fantasy I & II (GBA)

And I still need to finish the Final Fantasy 1 portion of that, as well as Soul of Rebirth.

Devil May Cry 2:
Yeah I'm playing DMC2! I don't care, you're not the police of me!

Cleared mission 4. No matter what, this game is still better than that piece-of-crap reboot from the makers of Heavenly Sword will be, and that emo lesbian they insist is Dante.

More exploring, came accross a few small towns and my first deathclaw... which turned me into Mojave wasteland food supplements. Decided to avoid Deathclaws for the moment.
Repaired the robot in Primm and earned ED-E, my first companion. With the robot in tow, headed eastward through a scorpion filled area to find some dead brotherhood with power armor I couldn't use yet. Left the armor where it was as my inventory was already overloaded. Crossed the area and found the Helios One plant. Restarted the thing and was left with a dilemma on where to redirect power. Considering this my 'good' character, I put the energy where the NCR wanted it (that archimedes II weapon is mine on the next playthrough) before moving on to Gibson.
Lost track at some point, but reached a town with a T-rex statue and a Ghoul problem. Tracking the ghouls, found an old Rocket site where a group of peaceful ghouls were trapped by an unknown enemy (the nightkin) which prevented them from keeping an eye on their usually penned Feral Ghouls.

Dead Rising 2
Had to restart after I took too long getting to a critical mission and not having enough time to complete it. :BANG_HEAD:
This game is fun but that timer works against you

Deathclaws are super rare in these games, but they give you an optional mission in New Vegas to go into their freaking spawning cave or whatever, and theres like 30 of them, plus an alpa male and a mom! And a bunch of little baby ones.

How do you redirect the power without every one shooting at you? I tried, but I got into the plant and robots where shooting at me, and Boone promised that if I kept killing the NCR, that he'd leave, (A long time before this.) so I restarted. How do you do it? Or do you have to?

Resistance Fall of Man

I finally got the first game, and I was really enjoying it more than RE2, RE2 was near impossible at times, and made me want to break things. Fall of man is a great game...that is until ONE OF THE LAST LEVELS!!!!! I am mad as hot dog piss at this game. Let me tell you what happened. I got it yesterday and I'm almost done with it. When I first played it I fell in love with this game. It had great controlls, great weapons, it was a great way to relieve stress, but it did somthing that pissed me the hell off. I am on one of the last levels of the game. I am almost done with the game, so I keep playing. I keep playing only to be confronted by a big ass stalker, with only a carbine and a LAARK. I blow his ass up. Then, the level after is hard as hell!

I'm in a sort of mall, blowing the **** out of things, and everything kills me. I die about 3 times in the first checkpoint. I get past that, and die again. I thought that I might as well keep playing, since it started me off with full health, I loose at the next checkpoint. This is the same stupid crap that happened to me in Resistance 2 on the second to last level! I can't get past one of the last levels, so I quit. Resistance, you a piece of ****! I hate you, series! Why do you have hard levels all the time? Why can't it just be a simple level? I hate going through the same crap time after time! I just want to play the damn level without any fustrating parts! Theres no place to take cover in this part either, you're just in some huge open room, with Chimera shooting you with Bullsey's and some ray gun type things. And ain't no got damn place to take cover! I'm sitting up here for a whole day waiting to play this game, and this is what I get? Resistance, I hope I never meet you, because I will beat the hot dog piss out you damnit! Why can't you make crap easy? Just this one part! The rest of the game isn't too hard or too easy, but every Resistance game so far, has one annoying part on it! (Except Resistance 2, the whole game was annoying to me.)

Why am I the only person with this problem? You don't see IGN with this problem! You don't see Gameinformer with this problem! Gamestop, none of them, but a stupid kid who sucks at shooters, "oh well, he can't beat this got damn game"! :BANG_HEAD: :BANG_HEAD: :BANG_HEAD:

I also just found Fallout 1, 2, and Tactics for the PC, so I'm happy. I'm sorry for ranting about this crap, but I'm so freaking mad. Fudge you Resistance, fudge...you!

Deathclaws aren't rare, just localized. Either way, not ready for them.
As for Helios, not sure what you're doing differently. The robots inside are security leftovers so they're always hostile. And redirecting should just be picking a destination.... unless you decided to activate the Archimedes unit. That would get you some negative points.

Fallout: New Vegas
Short summary: Continued on my quest at Repconn. Cleared the Nightkin from the basement, met a trapped Ghoul and informed him his girlfriend was dead. With the Nightkin cleared, the brotherhood was free to fly away, barring few more repairs. They needed an isotope which I found in handy abundance at a souvenir shop. They needed parts which I found at a scrap yard. They got to fly into the sunset. Fly my Ghoulies, Fly!
With that out of the way, helped Boone track down his wife's killer separate the culprit's head from her body. After that, bought a motel room and added Boone as my second companion. Went back to where I left some power armors but they were gone. :BANG_HEAD:
Headed up to Black MOuntain and took the 'kill everything' approach, ending Tabitha's reign... and radio station.... and life. There was a repairable robot but it vanished when the mission ended. Odd. Freed a ghoul named Raul but he's not going anywhere in a hurry. Currently Idolized in Novac.

Tron 2.0
In the network hub, looked for a compiler when the viruses attacked. defended against them before finding a nightclub called the "Progress Bar" (get it?). Inside, had the DJ play a specific track to free up the compiler and set about compiling the Tron legacy code into Ma3a. Got a call from Guest who then told me "DO NOT compile the tron legacy code". Oops. Thorne and more viruses attacked but were fended off by a now empowered Ma3a who then killed Byte and took a shot at me. Esccaped into a light cycle arena but she caught up with me, but luckily a seeker program caught up with her. Phew... Okay, now what do I do?

The final/later level in a game is harder than the earlier portions? Well I'll be damned.

Devil May Cry 2:
BEATEN! I think I have to do Lucia's story, though. There were a few times I expected to lose. This is Devil May Cry, it's known for it's ability to kick your ass. But it turns out, Ebony & Ivory, which are almost entirely useless, are in fact god-like destroyers in DMC2, meaning I can stay away from my enemies and blast them with my pistols and win. Slow but sadly effective.

But let's talk about Argosax the Chaos, the game's second-to-last boss. It's composed of the melted-together bodies of fives of the game's bosses, and one boss from DMC1. (Technically two, Griffon and Phantom, but Phantom was a boss in DMC2 as well) Two of these faces have massive blind spots where they can't hit you. Another two have easy-to-predict and easier-to-dodge attacks. Only two of them can be a challenge, and once you're past them it's easy.

Then Despair Embodied happens. Lots of cheap attacks and ability to switch genders and make you feel uncomfortable. Fortunately, if you die, you start the fight over, only now you have full health AND full Devil Trigger. Oh, and when you're low on health and activate Devil Trigger, you get a totally new form that can kill bosses very fast.

Still, at least Dante looked like Dante, and not some emo lesbian.

GAME.OVER!
Since detailing anything else would qualify as spoilers, let's just jump to the review.

Surprisingly good game, and not just for a rail shooter. It had atmosphere, your characters were developed to the point where you enjoyed their banter and felt sad when they died. The concept of switching characters per level removed all silent protagonists and let you step into the body of the character you were just escorting. And having to use your melee weapon to take off your own arm is a surprisingly gruesome but creative twist. 7/10 (5 being avg)

Decided to forego any missions and just explored. Found myself in the Red light district earning a Peeping tom Bonus (yes, for real) and trying new weapon combos. The power guitar and Freezer bomb are now staples of my arsenal. While exploring, ran into a psychopath and his pet tiger. Killed him but his tiger ate me. Reloaded, killed him, and escaped the tiger. Tried to get back to the next mission but ran out of time. Guess I need to restart... again...

HA! GOT IT! I beat you! Never again!!! But I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy Resistance 3 anyway. It's such an addicting series! Even though this game was ok, and I hated the second one, I just could never replay them. But RE3 is going to suck me in just like these 2.

Mass Effect 2

Working on beating this game for my 18th time! Litterally, I have beaten it 17 times! That's almost as many times I've beaten Spiderman Web of Shadows! I beat that game 20 times!

Good God, how much free time do you have? I put 41 hours into ME2 and I haven't even beaten it twice. (Getting close on my second run but I'm also trying to complete as many sidequests as possible)

Yesterday, Tweezy mentioned a Christmas Event in the game Killing Floor, which not only made the Pyro from Team Fortress 2 playable, but also gave you TF2 items. (A new gas mask and a tie for Pyro, both based on one of the characters from Killing Floor) He also mentioned that items aside, it was still a really fun game. We both lamented that neither of us had the $20 to spend.

The next day it went on sale for $6.80.

Killing Floor:
Tweezy got me Killing Floor. So far, I've only leveled the Sharpshooter perk up once. I also got seven achievements.

Seriously want to play Tron 2.0, but in preparation/anticipation of the Legacy, I figured I'd give Evolution a whirl.

Tron: Evolution [PC]:
I have to say that I'm surprised it doesn't seem as lazy of a PC port as I expected. Hell, you can even change the display options in-game, from the pause menu. Uncanny! Camera controls and combat targeting are really awkward. Basically, the game seems to be Prince of Persia in a Tron universe. Simple mindless fun while 2.0 has all the, you know, actual depth and merit.

Reached the first boss fight where you learn about combos and got an Achievement.

Decided to give this title a go since I heard it was a pretty cool game for the N64. The mission I'm currently on involves Joanna and Elvis infiltrating an enemy base to disable an experimental deep-sea ship.

So far, I'm really digging this game. The sound effects and gameplay are identical to Rare's other N64 FPS, Goldeneye, which I used to play a lot. It's weird feeling nostalgic playing a game you've never played before.

Cleared Chapter 2. Current in the next city, getting double-crossed. This story better end with the Monitor interfacing with Delicious Quorra.

Everything is better with Olivia Wilde in skin-tight clothing. Science proven.

Borderlands:
As Brick, I killed Krom and Reaver, as well as starting the Middle of Nowhere quest line. On the flip side, I've only been building Brick up so I could join Tweezy and his roommate in their next adventure, so for the time being, this is as far as Brick Hardmeat is going. I think he's around level 27.

Meanwhile, as Lilith Cashlin (According to the Borderlands wiki, that's actually her last name) my level 66 beauty, going through the Robolution a second time...and getting beat down hard. It doesn't help that the missions scale up after you complete the Crawmerax mission, and I was able to do that on playthrough 2, with help from a friend...several times over...in the course of a couple hours. (He was equipped with some godlike Pearlescent weapons) So despite being nearly maxed out, the enemies are still ahead of me. For the first time in a long time, I'm struggling as Lilith. Didn't see that one coming. in any case, I killed the assimilated General Knoxx, and turned on a power plant, then killed assimilated Dr. Ned and shut down a Claptrap production plant.

The Character Model extra feature has her in a Spider-Man-esque pose with plenty of DAT ASS.

Also, where was Lilith's last name revealed? Was that from the upcoming Borderlands novel, or something?

Some kind of unused texture file. Not exactly the most reputable source but there's nothing so far to suggest anything else.

Now what's this about a novel?

On the Borderlands wiki forum/discussion/chatting interface thing, there was an author (I forgot what books he'd written) who explained that he was commissioned to make a Borderlands novel, and he was asking the community for their input. Naturally, the thread degenerated to trolling. Big surprise, eh?

Trolling? On a video game forum? Get outta town!

Still, I'd be down for a Borderlands novel. I know it's not supposed to be about the story, but I really think everything would be better if we'd hear the Vault Hunters input on things. Especially snarky comments. And a great emphasis on Moxxi's apparent bisexuality.
