Generation Wave 1
- Motto: "This is quick but not quite painless.."

This is just a general question. I live in the Pittsburgh area and I have visitted all of my local TRU and Walmart's. I have seen tons of Cybtron Optimus and BB's and all of the new HFTD figures out so far. (deluxe Ironhide, Leader Starscream, Sea Spray, etc) but i have not caught a glimpse of Thrust or Drift. They are the two I want the most. Anyone else having this problem?
PS: The PCC are awesome. I had my doubts but I picked up the first wave of two pack and I love them.

There have been reports that Drift and Thrust are both the heavy hitters of these lines, and BB and OP are shelfwarmin. Doesn't help that Generations Wave 2 will have another rush of BB and OP. Don't worry too much though, they should show up once again before the second waves start showing up. If not, there's always BBTS, Entertainment Earth, TFsource, Robotkingdom, etc.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Throw scalpers into the mix and I imagine they will be hard to find. It doesnt help that most of the Walmart's around here are still trying to get rid of the ROTF before they tock up. Counted 16 Mudflaps the other night there. Im trying to let patience prevail, but BBTS is sounding tempting.
The restock of BB and OP will be unnecessary in my opinion.

A local collector was at TRU and watched them open a fresh case that didn't have any Thrust or Drift in it, just the WFC figs...which would make sense considering the WFC figs were available on TRU.com almost a month before Thrust and Drift showed up. Give it a couple more weeks and they should start showing up too.

That makes sense. The shelves are loaded with the WFC figures, at least 6-10 each. And I'm not complaining, I hope they sell well so Hasbro gives us new molds. Thrust, Drift, Dirge, Blurr along wit the rest though, the real classics figures, are the cream of the crop.

Yeah, I talked to an employee at my local TRU, he said that ALL of the Generations cases they were sent were WFC OP and BB. No Drift or Thrust yet.

I tried to ask an employee at my local TRU but he just kind of weirded me out, didn't know much either.

Bummer man. Guess i shouldn't complain then. I find it odd that these figures hit Malaysia and countries like that before Canada

Yeah, I'm not to pleased about that either. I decided to just take a chance and order them from BBTS. It's actually not much more than if I just bought them at the store. I have no idea when they might come though, my Wal-Mart just got the 2 packs of PCC and HftD scouts. Not even the big sets yet or any deluxes. My TRU doesn't even have those yet. Is there always such a time difference when lines come out between US and Canada?

Not really true. Most of the initial batched shipped do not have Drift or Thrust in them (particularly the ones that went to TRU).

I tried to ask an employee at my local TRU but he just kind of weirded me out, didn't know much either. It is weird that they seem to be spacing it out at some TRU around the states and not others. WFC Bumblebee is one of the hardest figures I own to transform. I cannot get him to fit together right in his alt. mode.
I got lucky - the dude I spoke to was cool, went in the back and hunted around in the cases for a bit even, and brought some out so I could see, and even wrote down their delivery schedule for the next week so I could come back when they would probably have good stock. Hooray for awesome employees!

Yeah, that is awesome. Any inside source is a huge help. Did he have any idea when the Drift/Thrust batches would be coming out?

The Walmarts around here don't even have the PCC's or HFTD yet. Still running the $9.00 deluxe and $7.00 scout sale to get rid of their ROTF surplus.

We've got a couple Drifts around here at TRU and I bought the only Thrust I've seen thus far. Of course, the only new ones around here are at TRU...
P.S. Your sig is WAYYYYY too big, son...Very cool, but way too big.

Hmm must just be a hit and miss thing. I'll give it a couple more weeks before I break and buy it off BBTS or somewhere like that. I cannot wait to get my hands on these generations figures. Thrust and Dirge especially.
HAHA, I changed my signature. I had to save that picture though when I saw it. The figure was amazing. $2,425 is out of my league though.

Sadly, no. He just knew when the next few Hasbro shipments were coming in, and I don't think any of them had any more TFs.

Re: Generation Wave 1
just for clarification:
generations deluxe case asst W1R1=2wfc prime, 2wfc BB, 2 Thrust, 2drift.
generations deluxe case asst W1R2=4 wfc prime, 4 wfc BB
I know this from having watched them open a W1R2 case and the powers of deduction(and the internet).

Yup, only started last November. Just bit the bullet and ordered the hole set from BBTS. Least that solves that problem. I will wait for the others to show up in stores because I only want 1 or 2 of the next waves.
I don't care if we get things early, just that we get them close to when the US does. I don't get why there is such a delay. Kinda sucks that Canada gets the shaft like that, not even video games do that

Interesting.
Complete opposite problem at the TRU's near me.
I have found Drift and Thrust in quantity and they were selling fast and were gone last time I was there.
At the same time I saw exactly one WFC Prime and zero WFC Bumblebee at the TRU's near.
Some kid was buying the Prime so I didn't get one

That's not really the problem. Wal-Mart's currently in the middle of their Summer reset (June, July, August), and they usually don't put out new stuff like this until the end of the Summer reset/beginning of the Fall reset. (September, October, November)
By the end of August, beginning of September, we'll hear reports of these getting to Wal-Mart. By mid September, we'll see a full saturation.
It's never been officially confirmed, but all signs point to TRU getting first dibs on these to get ahead of the competition. Plus, since they're a toy store, they'd have an easier time selling these than a big name store would. Wal-Mart and Target go for new toy products in the Fall and Christmas resets, because that's the time of year that they'll have the most success in selling. The only time we see new TF product in the Summer is street dated stuff like the movie toys, or stuff like Cybetron (which had it's first release at TRU before anywhere else) and HFTD/Generations. (I.E. a head start release through TRU and online retailers.)
Wal-Mart will get them soon enough. Then people will be whining about "Oh they don't carry new stuff! This sucks!"

You will never hear me complain about Generations toys sitting at Walmart. Personally, I don't think that will ever happen but if it does, I would be incredibly happy.

Yeah I know. I don't care too much about getting stuff early either, but it's either that or we get them like 1 month+ late. :S Certain figures, like Animated Skywarp & Wreckgar, and Universe Inferno, came out like a year later. Ridiculous.
Lucky for me I live near the border so once in awhile I make a trip down to Seattle. Sometimes I come back with some good finds.

Also some tru have been putting generations figures in the r zone on a end cap underneath the transformers war for cybertron game display so I would also check there as well.
