Its an homage to Grandus from Battle Stars. Not to Metroplex. He was indeed a base former, and his alt mode was an aircraft carrier on treads, that combined with Star Convoy.

That design on the bonnet of Tracks, it's so garish, so vulgar. I LOVE IT!! That's a winner.
It would seem as though Hasbro's inclusion of chrome on Generations Perceptor has put Takara on the defensive. There's so much chrome on that figure that it'd probably burn off your retina if you exposed it to the sun.
I too am disappointed with the lack of variation between so many of the United figures.

I don't know if the picture of Frenzy/Rumble, and Wheeljack are takara or not, but I do know that Kup, Scourge, and G2 Prime are pics of Hasbro's version because they are completely unchanged from all the pics we have already seen.
