I like how the upgrades to the proton packs are more practical so they don't have to use different kinds of packs like in GB2 when they had to sacrifice the use of two proton packs to use their slime packs. Instead it's all in one and you switch between the oepration modes. I sort of wish that Stay Puft Marshmallow Man was later in the game so you could have a tougher and more epic battle with the 100 ft snackpiece.
Also, pick up artifacts, you never know, you may come across a certain picture-dwelling Carpathian who will bad-mouth you and talk about how he sat on a throne of blood.

I'll deifnately admit that those later levels will keep you on your heels, especially during the solo parts since if you get incap'd you gotta start over.
Do I want another? While part of me does, I'm pretty sure the cast doesn't really want to keep doing sequel after sequel for Ghostbuster games. This was probably a one time thing for them to do because they felt it would be nice to replay those characters once again depsite not being able to physically take on the roles in live action. This game is fine on it's own. But if they must, it seems they may very well have a new setting and new cast and ghosts to go along with it.

Actually, I belive that's the reason why Activision dropped the license in the first place, because they couldn't do yearly sequals. Then Atari picked it up.
I dont' have the game yet, but I do plan to get it when it goes on sale. I'm not a "huge" Ghostbusters fan, the movies are okay but nothing "great", possibly because I never saw them when I was a kid. However, I did watch the show when I was a kid, and I do recognize why the movies are renowned.

My only thing is that I kind of wished it was more like a turn based game, kind of like in the vein of X-Com where you could send you guys on missions and have a over the top look to it. But, as it stands, Ghostbusters game is a great addition to the history of Ghostbusters. From what I have been reading in Toyfare, it looks like we might acutally see a new movie.I think they might have been testing the waters with the game before they get green lighted for a new Ghostbusters film.
The new movie has been greenlit with Ramis and Akroyd writing it. They have said filming could start as soon as January. The entire cast is back except Rick Moranis who, admirably, continues his retirement after the death of his wife so that he can raise his children. With any luck we'll see Ghostbusters 3 in 2011.
The game did more than test the waters. Murray, Ramis, and Hudson have all said that doing the game was so much fun that they decided at that point it was time to bring the franchise out of retirement.

A strategy game wouldn't have fared NEARLY as well as an action game.
The game is good, really, really good. My only main problem is how hectic battles can be, and how easy it is to die. Still, the humor is all there, and getting a ghost inside of a trap is endlessly satisfying.
By the way, I DID cross the streams. It only knocks back you, and whoever you've crossed streams with. Still, it's kind of fun, assuming you don't have too many enemies on your hands. Though I'd like to see if it can hurt enemies. (Pretty much every enemy has slipped away before anything really happened)

I don't know, I think a strategy type setting would work for Ghostbusters. Just would depend on how they would go about it. A GTA format would work pretty well I think which is pretty close to what we got, but it would have been nice to actually travel the streets of New York in the ECTO-1 going from job to job.

Not many people want other people to go capture ghosts, most people want to actually do it themselves.

When one of the guys (I think it was Ray) suggested they let me drive the Ecto-1, I was estatic, until they all say "NAH!" to which my heart broke into many pieces and I died a little inside. (In the humorous kind of way)

I haven't had any luck connecting for the online games either...don't know what the story it. It's very annoying.

Same thing here. Just picked up the game last week and love it. There's not much too it, but it's really entertaining me.
As for the online... I think PS3 just has a lot of issues. I have been able to connet to other sessions (takes a few shots) but if all else fails, make your own campaign. I've always gotten a full group that way

I love this game!
Interestingly enough I encountered no glitches in the game, it was smooth sailing from beginning to end. This is good because normally the PC version is the one that suffers the most.

Its fun as hell to play. They really did a good job. Only prob is I just got to the Museum and according to IGN's guide (I looked at it because I was curious) i'm nearly half way through the game already. Seems kinda short, as do all modern games really. Also don't quite get the saving thing. Twice now I've got through a mission, turned it off, and when I start up again, it skips the firehouse completly and goes to the next mission.
As far as on-line goes, I've had no trouble playing with strangers just can't seem to connect with a friend!

That is really annoying! It happened to me the first time after knocking Stay Puft off the building. I was really annoyed because I had to go back and fight him again so I could watch the firehouse sequence. After that I made sure I always quit after I got to the first stage of the missions instead.

I just realised the rooky might actually be the only live action Ghostbuster toy we will ever get, that's if they decide to make him.
I hope they make a sequel and that it's longer and has an off-line multi-player-mode.
