According to reports posted at IGN.com and IESB.net, Stephen Sommers (The Mummy, The Mummy Returns, Van Helsing) is apparently not going to direct the upcoming G.I. Joe live-action film. Sommers reportedly wanted more money than Paramount was willing to pay. New rumors, however, have surfaced that Len Wiseman (Underworld, Live Free or Die Hard) may be in the running as a potential director for G.I. Joe.
IESB.net also reports that the film's producers are moving ahead with plans to make G.I. Joe more appealing to international audiences by including Action Man and a team that is "not exclusively American or British." IESB says the characters "will still be based from the original cartoons, toys and comics but with a globe-trotting flavor." Actor Jason Statham (The Transporter, Crank) is apparently the studio's first choice for playing Action Man in the film.
Editor's comment: Stay tuned as we continue to watch this potential train wreck.

Having Jason Statham involved intrigues me, but not as 'Action Man'. Make him Snake Eyes, make Jet Li Storm Shadow, and I'm in to see it...

Why not just do what they did for the toy line 25 years ago, call the movie Action Force internationally.

Probably don't want to lose/alienate the US audience either...although it sounds like it will be closer to an ACTION FORCE type of representation.

Homer wrote:Personally, I would love to see Hasbro do a "Vintage" collection of these like they did with Star Wars. A mock up of the original card, a reissue of the original ARAH figs, wrapped in a star case for $7.99 each. I'd be all over that.

There selling better then the Joes
Wheeljack35 wrote:Your one of the lucky ones
My store and others that I have been to have only the Joe 5 packs
Wheeljack35 wrote:A few,some with Flint,Snake Eyes and Cobra Commander
tigertracks 24 wrote:Suppsoedly the Joe five pack is a little rarer than the Cobra. Supposedly the case is like 3 cobras to 1 joe or something like that.
TNI: You showed us two very cool figures at San Diego, Zartan and Serpentor. However, both figures seem to be missing something very important that the originals had, Zartan's Swamp Skier and Serpentor's Air Chariot. Can you tell us if there are any plans in motion to get people these two things for their figures in the near future?
Hasbro: Our first goal with the 2007 25th Anniversary line was to bring the most important GI Joe and Cobra characters out into the market. Now that we have accomplished that, we can start looking at gearing them up.

I just hope the figures can fit in them properly... I've heard they have trouble sitting. Is this true?
At any rate, I'd love if they made a VAMP. Vehicle: Assault, Multi-Purpose FTW!

I'd love to see a SNAKE:

a CLAW

and a FANG

A VAMP would be bad ass. Toss in Clutch as a pack in...oh yeah. Release the Stinger for the upcoming driver in the next Cobra 5-pack...
