Wording from Paramount seens to indicate that this is a strong possibility for the next film.

What do you think, or feel about the crossover possibilities?

Of course they're going to do it. 'The Quest for More Money' (Spaceballs movie). They'll find ways to make it (kind of) work, like they did with the regular military in previous movies. The humans will have sabot rounds at almost 6000 degrees celsius or whatever. There'll probably be other effective weapons. The Transformers will be distracted by the pursuit of MacGuffin E or some such. Maybe other powerful aliens will be introduced as a further distraction.

In reality, the Decepticons would deploy self-replicating robots to hunt down and destroy humans. These could target the military directly, as if they're obeying the Rules of War. Alternatively, they could go after families and cause real chaos, as seen in Israel lately. Bear in mind that self-replicating robots can only be built if there are enough materials. A big junkyard could help, as in Age of Extinction. Otherwise, they should find a large, central, supplies warehouse. Even a major DIY store would be handy (Iron Man 3!).

There are other effective anti-human strategies. For example, disrupt essential supplies. Destroy water supply systems, breach dams, bomb food distribution hubs, rip up roads and railways, block ports with sunken ships, crater runways to halt air transport, burn oil and gas depots, hack online ordering systems and definitely wreck Amazon warehouses. After that, major hospitals can be targeted to prevent treatment of diseases that would follow the collapse of other infrastructure. These are classic war tactics.

I haven't even touched on more hi-tech methods that the Decepticons might use if they can overcome the foolishness foisted upon them by the writers and the studios. Naturally, they could shut down all electronic communication, sending humanity back to the early 19th Century. They could also broadcast harmful radiation that would cause severe headaches, general disequilibrium, sickness, low mood, fatigue, paranoia, panic and, eventually, cancer. Given that the Decepticons have hyperdrive technology, they can use this to teleport people and objects wherever they want, such as outer space, deep oceans, sealed tunnels, high altitudes and Antarctica. We've already seen (in ROTF) that Decepticons can read human minds. They could use this to pre-empt human attacks, locate human facilities, identify key personnel and so on. There are many more possibilities but my posting time is limited!

my predictions on where it will or could go:

- a bunch of joes and cobras become targetmasters or headmasters or pretenders like noah with exosuit

- unicron's trapped soul infects the earth and he constructs a sort of planet key for himself in peru volcano

- BW megatron shows up to rival Primal and the remaining maximals, eventually teaming with cobra and being possessed/enslaved by unicron to meet unicron's goals of gaining a new body / planet form

- unicron grants BW megatron the voidspark/decepticon matrix to empower the bad guys

- cobra commander takes his cybertronian adaptation over the top and basically goes full cyborg, like silas in prime or maybe mandroid in earthspark

- something sappy happens around a mcguffin that either makes unicron's soul more dormant or will somehow purify the planet from his grasp, restoring its "earthspark" - if they tie it into TLK, could be a movie after TLK that has primus/cybertron take that role

In a true nothingburger of a story, media sites across the web are reporting on 2 phrases uttered by Lorenzo di Bonaventura during his press tour for his latest failure, Madame Web. When asked when we'd hear more about the Transformers/GI Joe crossover, Bonaventura said he didn't know. All he knows is that they will one day make good on their promise. Now if that means Gi Joe characters in the next Transformers movie or an actual crossover film, that seems to be all up in the air with nothing to speak of as of yet. The main take away is that we won't be learning more of this for a while but the idea has not been dropped.

The crossover is a neat concept, and was back when it was just those Marvel comics. But I never liked the artwork in those comics. Granted, I doubt I could do much better. But the way they were drawn just lacked energy. Like in the cover.



If it weren't for the explosion star in the background, it would look as if Bumblebee was simply flying apart gently in quiet wind. He's standing perfectly straight, giving no sign that the bullets and tank shells slamming into him have any kinetic impact at all. And what's Flint doing in the foreground? Directing traffic? And that tank barrel up at the top left - what is the tank itself standing on?

A crossover that epic deserved artwork that was equally epic, and frankly much of the art across the entire comic series was sub-standard.

The crossover is a neat concept, and was back when it was just those Marvel comics.

My primary familiarity with the crossover concept comes from the IDW 2005 continuity, which was one of my least favorite parts of the whole continuity.

That said, I've been reading Skybound's Energon Universe and it seems to be handling it pretty well so far.

That tank barrel is probably supposed to be just really high in the air like 9-12 ft and extending over the viewer's head, like the tank is kind of behind the camera view position and to the left a bit, and the barrel is coming in from over the shoulder at that height.

That said, some of the late comics when the budget was running out from marvel era did have some terrible artwork, a few were so sketchy you could barely tell what was happening toward the end.

Why do you consider Madame Web a failure?

It does have an early critics score of 16% on Rotten Tomatoes, and while RT is not always indicative of a movie's quality, a score that low is pretty remarkable.

I mean, I could see that being used to falsely boost RT scores, but I don't know what the major studios would stand to gain from using bots to sink a movie's ratings. It's not like there were any other major movies competing with Madame Web's theatrical run or anything.
