Had a little surprise,,,

I only see my partner maybe once every few months due to us living so far apart.

For the last visit (from which I've just returned) she apparently had something planned.

And I found out quite quickly that she'd managed to get us two tickets to Transformers at the Imax in London.

Now I've never been to an Imax, and never thought about it.

But by Primus was it worth it  I'll probably sound pretty noobish here but... That screen was enormous and I found I had to actually turn my head quite a lot to really see what was going on.

Unbelievable. The amount of detail you miss on the smaller screen is actually so much that it was well worth seeing the film once more. Like the amount of detail on Blackout as he's destroying the SOCCENT base in the distance. You can still see so much on him from that far away. And the extra scenes were brilliant (I don't have the DVD yet, I'm in the UK). Like the pawn shop owner, who was just hilarious.

I walked out of there with my eyes burning. But it was so worth it. The sound was amazing, the visuals were so much better (if not a little blurry) and the deleted scenes - while, from the outset, weren't too appealing - were worth another go-around.

Now I just need to find a way to top that for my partner next time I visit her :-? And no, I'm not asking for suggestions, I know how messy that'd get :P

This was just a little recounting of one of the best nights I've had in a long time.

It was a pleasure wasting your evening, folks

I'm encouraged you shared that experience w/ us. You actually made me wish I went to see the IMAX version. Now my curiosity is aroused on the pawn shop dealer.

Haha, it was excellent. If you care...

SPOILER KINDA

It was Lennox trying to get some short wave radios off of a pawn shop dealer (a large, african-american woman), and to speed up the proceedings he produces his gun. He's more than surprised when she raises a shotgun right back at him. So he tries to trade off his scuba diving watch to her for the radios, but when that fails, he merely flatters her and suceeds.

END SPOILERNESS

You need to see it really :P Promise, it's well worth it.

Yeah, IMAX is great, I'll finally get to see Transformers when I head out to the Halifax IMAX this saturday. It'll be worth the drive and the price of admission, it's a must for any fan of the movie-going experience!

Saw it on IMax in Cincinnati, and I thought it was worth the drive down. Details looked great, Brawl looked so much better, and the final battle was a lot cleaner. Glad I saw it.

That's because I'm awesome B-)

But yeah, that Imax version was amazing o_o
First thing to notice was the improved detail on the TFs, and especially on Megatron's face when there are close-up's during the final battle. It blew me away.

I think by far though, my fave scene to watch on the Bigger big screen was the one with Starscream ripping apart those jets. Fantastic ^^

One thing though was that at the end, people didn't stay to watch the extra scenes (it's worth staying just to see Starscream one mroe time <3) and so I had to stand up to see that bit over the heads of the losers in the row in front.

But all in all that night was amazing. Mev and Dinobot (yes, I did take one of my TFs with me, as I also took my Cheetor when watching it in the normal cinema) and I enjoyed it immensely ^^
