I admittedly haven't played with the tapes yet other than popping them in and out of SW. I have KO Ratbat which I have played with and am fine with, so I think I'll enjoy the birds. I am aware of the complaints with the other tapes so I'm not expecting much, especially with ravage. But the awesomeness of SW overcomes it all.

They are not, the only main difference is the colour of Soundwave's eyes. The casettes are practically the same. Also, I dont find the Titans Return Rumble that much bigger and they are less articulated.

Just to let you know in case you consider getting them. I will say this though, the headsculpts on the United Rumble/Frenzy is better, in my opinion.

Soundwave himself - yellow vs red eyes, and Takara has black screws used in the assembly. Takara Soundwave also has one extra paint app - they painted the outside of his feet completely, Hasbro left one part of his feet bare gray plastic (the part that points 'inward' to the opposite foot/leg.) Also, the first run of either Soundwave has a flaw fixed with Soundblaster and every subsequent release of the mold - the left side of his faceplate has a gate mark which was trimmed and painted over to varying degrees of cleanliness on the first run. Later releases moved the gate (where the part separates from the tree after injection molding is complete) elsewhere so as not to leave the cut mark visible on the toy's face.

Rumble and Frenzy - chrome vs shiny paint. I forget which is which, not in a position to look at them right now.

The Buzzsaws are almost entirely different colors, one quite yellow and one with a strong tint in the orange-ish direction.

Laserbeak and Ravage are almost identical, yeah.
