To take umbrage means to show offense to, and or become resentful and/or angry towards a differing opinon.
Pretty sure he was making a joke.
william-james88 wrote:(Some stuff)Why does everyone seem to think that HasTak can throw out new molds at no extra cost? If they don't use a mold several times, then they make no money off of it.
That last line of yours goes against a lot of what Hasbro has done in the past. Does this mean Hasbro made no money off Leader Sentinel Prime, or animated Sentinel Prime, or HFTD Leader Starscream, or DOTM Voyager Megatron, or the recent Waspinator, Scoop, Rhinox, Brainstorm, Rattrap, Generations Minicon 3 pack and on and on and on.
(Some more stuff)

What is it?

This could have been the perfect chance to give us a Bulletbike or Override homage, but instead you make a crappy version of a toy/figure/character when there was already a pretty much perfect Wreck-Gar out there.

I'll go one better, you know who would have really been a surprise?
I know, I know, wrong faction, but they're reasonably similar in both modes, and Cybertron/Galaxy Force homages just don't seem to ever happen for whatever reason.
I wouldn't mind the use of this mold but needs some minor tweaks like a more accurate head sculpt and maybe change the wings somewhatJelZe GoldRabbit wrote:CombaticonsCombine? wrote:I'm fairly sure that's a hand-painted "prototype".

They're disappointed with Blast Off being a mere redeco of Quickslinger aka Slingshot. Yes, that's what we're actually getting, a redeco of this guy:
Transformers Generations Combiner Wars Quickslinger (Slingshot) Gallery
We can only hope TakaraTomy will make a new mold for him like they did with Groove.
mataleben wrote:The thing that's the most disappointing about Blast Off is that it's so close to being good. The Fireflight head would have been great on him and that would have let Hasbro give Blast Off the same body but instead they just gave him the stupid Slingshot head. They could have at least modded it to have a mouth plate.

Great, now I want two Grooves: one for whenever I start getting Defensor and one to probably have repainted as Ransack. Who'd make a good Crumplezone out of the Deluxes, I wonder?

My thoughts of this Blast Off-- Yes, a completely, distinctly new mold with a space shuttle alt mode would've been really cool.
But in the grand scheme, from what I'm seeing of the bot mode, is this mold making him look that bad??
I really would like a better, more character accurate head mold... But I'm not complaining-- it's just the one thing I'd change.
But having said that... You can't really blame Hasbro for using Slingshot's head since they went through the extra steps/trouble to make it.

I have a feeling that it may not be too late to course correct on this matter. Blast Off, at least from Hasbro, is going to be a jet one way or another, but it looks like what they have on display at BotCon is a hand-painted prototype. If we all start voicing our concerns to Hasbro NOW, they may be able to respond and at least use the Fireflight version of the mold instead for its more compatible head sculpt (as compared to Slingshot). We're not asking for a new mold, or even a different mold, so much as an alternate version that we know they already have and have used. It's a shame, because BotCon is usually a great time to voice such concerns, but let's not that stop us from at least trying.
Also, while were at it, let's get them to fix Pipes' face. Since when has it been completely red? I can live without the mouthplate (being that it's a straight up Huffer repaint), but at least make his face silver with red eyes, like it is on the original G1 toy AND cartoon. Geez, Hasbro.

I am one who is still waiting for an updated Hasbro Predaking, which will require 5 completely new molds-- I'm going to guess that IF these ever get made, they would be molds that would be very difficult to re-use for other characters.

Are you kidding?!?A generic quadruped based of Skydive or air-raid would yield a ton re-uses. I don't know everyone off the top of my head, but if there were animal legs attached to the leg shells of the bot legs and the arms were super ball jointed and the robot head folded into a swappable beast head on the same strut the combiner port uses, they could pound out an abominus in a couple of days probably.

the arms could be wings (windrazor), they could be arms (blue troll guy), the animal head could be redone into the spinosaur looking guy, the robot mode legs could have sinnertwins necks attached to the heels; Predaking could be done up easily with this method too, maybe even monstructor (he was quite small with indistinct beast modes)

How do we know this? It is the standard mold used for the Takara version and it's not like Quickslinger was so exclusive afterall, he was at the website of Walmart, TRU and Target, that doesnt sound so exclusive to me.So if you look at the Takara release, the Quickslinger mold is being used while for Hasrbo there is the option of Alpha Bravo and Quickslinger. It seems in the grand scale of it all, there is already a great use of the Quickslinger head without needing to reuse it. That headsculpt is now shared by more Transformers than the upcoming wheeljack, so I really dont buy that last bit.
