In the Japanese back story, the original Metroplex (Encore#12 recent release) was severely damaged. The reconstruction on him lead to his doubling/tripling size to that of Fortmax. So now, Maybe a new backstory for a generations remake of the big Dino. Though I wish for "less" electronic gimmicks this time.

But nearly 9 years from Tomy/Takara's Metroflex re-issue...........sigh.Now a Hasbor Asia/Platinum release! Our hobbies are quite a bit of a frustration and self flagellation. But rewards are quite priceless once completed.

Trypticon has been on my shortlist to buy for way too long and a true complete vintage one usually runs over $200 so I'll probably snag this.

Btw, for those who want a Titan Class version, good sales on both this and Devastator would probably help convince them to do one.

I don't usually go for G1 reissues, but Trypticon is something unique that they don't seem ready to repeat yet. Shame it's so expensive, or I'd be all over it.

How big is he, BTW?

I have both of those figures...which is another reason why I wouldn't want a G1 reissue of Tryppy at this price.

I got lucky to get a complete G1 Trypticon a few years back for about the cost of the Platinum.

I'm with Diem: this is fantastic for G1, but I want a Titan Trypticon

12-14" is about right. I had mine up with the larger Godzilla figures and my Robostrux Terox (Zoids Gojulas).

So how much is this thing gonna go for at retail $400-500? Considering three teeny tiny platinum edition insecticons are 130$ Canadian.

Great looking set! But, as there seems to be no difference in the looks ok Trypticon, I'll pass. I don't need this guy twice.

I've already been screwed by the Fort Max reissue. As much as I want this figure I may have to wait for the sale for money to even out.
I might regret waiting or I might regret jumping.

How did you get screwed by Fort Max? Aside from the painted eyes on Cerebros, he's identical to the original...
Anyway, maybe this will drop ebay prices on Full-Tilt's gun. I can't stomach paying upwards of 50 bucks for that as it is.

Also, the price on Trypticon's little bowtie is hilariously high. I'm so bloody happy I have mine in place.

Aw jeez. Always wanted this guy. I see that he's got copy art for his batteries! Speaking of art, the packaging on him is so appropriate for such an awesome toy. Sadly I think I'ma hafta pass-it's either him or Devastator this summer.

This is one of those figures I really want a toy for. But knowing how he scales with everyone else, my interest wanes. If I buy him, he'll probably stay mint in box rather than be displayed.

Whether I buy him depends entirely on price. If it's more than $200, no dice.
