Double coverage. It gives G1 Collectors a character that's infrequently physically represented, and Shattered Glass Collectors a character that hasn't been in Shattered Glass before.
The more people it appeals to, the more people will buy it. The more people that butyit, the more justification there is to continue a line of semi-obscure characters.
Yeah, the lack of a significantly different Deco compared to the G1 iteration might be a little disappointing, but if getting a SG Flamewar means I can get a SG Ultra Magnus, Wheeljack, Soundwave, and Blaster, that's fine with me.
And besides, Flamewar isn't the only SG character with a nearly unchanged Deco compared to the original. Jazz is the same.

Shattered glass Burnout, or Skids? (Not sure anyone cares for shattered glass burnout)

Yes, all these lines are becoming just ways to release product to fans, which is what they have always been about. It's really not rocket science. And since anything sold at retail has to be made with kids in mind, they opted to have burnout in the velocitron line while flamewar in the SG line to avoid having two motorcycles in the same line.

I'm likewise as puzzled as everyone else as to why it's apparently the SG version!
Ah well, a paintjob or a toyhax sticker away to just being normal Flamewar, I'm still happily going to nab this as is and I appreciate the inclusion of a battlemaster for more fun.

It is a really neat looking figure! At first when I saw the battle master my mind painted it blue because it remembered Jackpot. Funny how that works.

Mold reuse will do that to ya, heh. I do think using the gun mode Sights had in the Jackpot set will probably make a good substitute for Flamewar's bow, at least without it being as big as she is. (Maybe you can even peg on those included energon blades to make it seem even more mystical!)

The bow? I forgot about that! I was wondering what the axe was supposed to represent...

Honestly comes off quite funny considering your weapon is listed as a crossbow, yet forgot about Flamewar's bow
Admittedly I rarely ever see anyone discuss Flamewar's figures so I cannot blame people forgetting what she even came with!

With Fireglide in Weapon Mode, could you fold in the Axe Handle and have Flamewar hold them by the peg at the "Top" of the Axe and it could pass as a Bow or Crossbow? Or is there too much of a Clearance issue?
Flashwave wrote:Gauntlet101010 wrote:Seems like a waste. Too similar to regular Flamewar. Did they just not have a slot for her so they figured SG could do double duty and be both regular and SG FW?
Well. I wouldn't have gotten it either way.
Most likely. That seems to be the MO for SG this wave. Slicer is doing the same thing and Ultra Magnus is pulling several homages out of his trailer

That's what I thought too, but you'd have to swap the wings so the string is on the right side.

I know it's just toy releases and finding a place for them. I know that in my head. But in my heart it feels like we didn't get a proper SG toy out of this.
That said, the "proper" toy is likely Burn Out as SG Skids.

Ah, I meant with the Wings forming the bow in the "correct" positioning, hence the concern about clearance.
Although, this photo of Pteraxadon from TFwiki basically shows what I was going for:
(Specifically the Middle Photo on the left side.)
Fireglide's head would essentially be facing forward with Flamewar holding the peg under their neck. My concern is the shape and size of Flamewar's arm might not let it be held well.
To be fair, every bow Flamewar has ever come with has been ridiculously large.RodimusPrimeUkraine1 wrote:Yes the bow would be ridiculous large, but oh well, it will probably be close enough.
