Hasbro sending in old stock!

lol
It happened. Once again Hasbro didn't produce enough product to meet demand, and so most toy shelves in the tf section are bare.
Now, no doubt you've seen older tf line stock, like Cybertron, lining the shelves where the movie stock should be. This is because Hasbro is shipping out the previous line stock still in their store houses out to retailers.
According to Zachary Sessock of Tformers.com, this old stock will be lining pretty much all retailer's tf section shelves until later in the year, when Hasbro have manufactured enough stock to meet demand.
If there was a figure or two you missed from a previous line, now would be the time to pick it up.
And who knows? Maybe there's some old Energon stock still lurking around in those stock warehouses?

I'd bet there is.
So much of that damn line didn't see proper distribution.

I could see Family Dollar and other Dollar stores selling their Universe (repackaged Energon) figures back to the bigger stores for a profit!

I really hope so. Cos that would give me a chance to get the rest of Superion and Bruticus cheap. Plus I'd love a shot at getting Wingsaber ebay-free.
That is, if Hasbro decide they should maybe stock the empty shelves anywhere but the US

I've noticed the bare shelves in the TF sections in most stores. I wonder if these old stock will include some classics or am I getting to optimistic?

I expect we may see some Classics restock. All depends on what's left in Hasbro's stock houses really.

Are we sure that it is Hasbro or that the stores are clearing out some old stuff. I worked in the stock room at Target once upon a time, and there is some old stuff back there that no longer has a spot on the shelf. Im sure they clear it out every now and then, but the drought would give them shelf space for a hot line. I should have picked up the Caddyshack Dancing Gopher when I worked there that was probably sitting in the stock room for a year. That thing was sweet.

I just wish they'd send out stocks of the 10th Anniversary Beast Wars boxes. I only got Rattrap when they first came out. Sure I can get most of them online, but not Dinobot. Not having to pay 26+ bucks for him, anyway, adding shipping to that cost.

Rhinox is still available on Hasbro Toy Shop for only $9.99, so even with shipping, he's near original price.

Additionally Waspinator, Cheetor and Tarantulas are full price, plus shipping.

I don't know if it's incompetence, since it means when they do get the shelves filled again, they'll be snapped up quickly, which has to be good for Hasbro. Inflation of prices is the natural result of supply being unable to keep up with demand.

Almost anything is better than ebay. I only use it for two reasons:
A: You can't get it at stores.
B: Whether you can get it at stores or not, it's at a decent price.
The drawback is shipping, which you can not avoid.
This is good news in a way for those of us who missed Cybertron toys. I hope some Alternators and Titaniums find their way to the store shelves as well.

Until recently (when the movie came out), I normally bought my figures on ebay. Perhaps it's just luck, but I've never paid more than retail price for any figure, and that included shipping. For example, each of my Alternators ran an average of $12 or so, shipping included. My most recent acquisition was a minicon 3-pack for $4.94 ($.99 + $3.95 s/h). I usually look at an auction, subtract the S/H from the retail price, and that is the maximum I bid for a figure. I don't win them all, but nothing is ever worth paying the extravagant prices some scalpers want. Recently, though, I've just visited my local Wal-Mart and have purchased every movie figure I've wanted with the exception of Leader Megatron (I mistakenly thought he would end up on clearance like every leader figure has been on previous lines.).

Well, that would explain why my local Wal-mart had some oldder stuff & not that '09 Bumblebee I've been looking for.
I did notice they had out the Transformers T.E.C.H. line now...but I have no plans on getting any of those.

Nothing yet at my Walmart, but the local one still have some oldies on the shelves. I saw a Cybertron Defense Red Alert, some Millenium Flacons, and Attacktix figures.
They did have some "Real Gear" 2 packs for $12.

I love it, I just love being right. After my post last week, I was actually questioning whether I was wrong about Hasbro and their stock of Transformers. Was it the fault of the stores-I actually began to feel bad for putting the bullseye on Hasbro. But after ready the posts about this the last couple of days, I feel completely vindicated.
I said it before, I'll say it again, Harbro blew it.

I always thought Hasbro seemed to stock toys in a more or less random manner. If they were serious about selling toys, they might look at what sells and stock those first. Look at Alternators, they complain they are not selling, but all my local stores all had nothing but 5-8 Skids in stock for the last half year - meanwhile toys like Mirage, Rodimus, Rumble, Ravage, Camshaft and Optimus Prime all flew off the shelves so fast I barely saw them if at all. Maybe they should figure out which ones are selling and restock THEM. Instead stores jsut see "well, we have a half dozen Alternators just sitting here and no one buys them - I guess no one want Alternators!" That are all Skids!
Honestly, Hasbro needs to just release a wave of toys that were short changed in their first releases some day - Cybertron Galvatron, Alternator Camshaft, Energon Ultra Magnus, Classic Starscream, Cybertron Voyager Starscream... anything sold in the last four years and now sells for mega money on ebay. They obviously didn't meet demand with their production on these toys.

Yeah, some cases seem disproportionate or there's too much of one and not another. Hell, I wanted Ravage but NEVER SAW HIM. When a collector, such as myself, only buys 10-12 figures a year, when they can't get 1-2 of them ever or 10% of what they want, it becomes a bit frustrating.

I can't say this surprises me. If this means a restock of Classics, though, I'm all for it. I need to get at least another Seeker.

The Walmart in Warren, MI just got a bunch of Classic Mirages and a ton of Classic Mini-Cons to fill the shelves.
