Deadput wrote:Rated X wrote:Why would Hasbro be compelled to spell Daniel backwards? Its a damn name how can anybody copyright or trademark it?
It might not be anything about Trademark it's probably just Hasbro coming up with a more robotic name for marketing purposes so basically this guy is not exactly Danial but a cybertronian homage to him.
When's the last time we got a human figure not including those "Statue" figures of the Prime kids?
Anyways it never made sense that a human could "fold" and transform into a head unless they were a cyborg or something which is part of why I prefer the Takara's take on the headmasters being extensions of the main robot or the headmasters being Cybertronian or minicons instead of Nubleans.

Yes. Now go to your room and don't play with yourself.
Black Hat wrote:Oh dear lord that Arcee is absolutely terrible. The headsculpt isn't too bad I suppose, and the vehicle mode is better than I expected, but the robot mode...Quite aside from the see-through bra and complete lack of any resemblance to Arcee, those SHOULDERS. Argh.

Well as all other cybertronian technology, we will always compare it what seems realistic on our planet. In the cartoon, somhow the exosuits turned into heads that were somewhat hollow enough to be a cockpit for the nebulan. This meant the nebulan didnt have to be a circus performer that can fold into a pretzel. How they get from exosuit to cockpit is better left to the imagination.

I think Masterforce is pretty good as well and I have the dvd from shout factory although I've only watched slightly over half the show and haven't finished it yet unfortunately. (Still like Headmasters slightly more...slightly)

You can't trademark it, it's too common, that's why they went with a made-up nonsense name instead that they could trademark.
Kurona wrote:Frankly I'm just glad the Titan Master is technically not Daniel so I don't have to remember that... very uncomfortable relationship they had in The Rebirth. What was up with that...?

Im not sure I understand the logic behind it. From a business perspective, not having to waste resources on tradmarking a name is a good thing. I wouldn't waste resources on trademarking something that cant technically be "stolen".
ArmadaPrime wrote:Also, I'm... kinda disappointed that it's an exclusive? I get that Hascon is trying to appeal to more of a family market, but to me the beauty of Botcon exclusives was that for the most part they were bizarre niche fan indulgence. Fantastic for those who wanted them and made sense for the Botcon demographic, but those who couldn't make it/afford the aftermarket price didnt really miss out. There was generally a sense of "this would never have happened if it weren't for botcon and the shocking levels of nerdery our team has". This though feels more like "we could have easily released this at general retail and made it widely available, but we felt like making it expensive and hard to get a hold of just for a laugh". IDK, maybe I'm just bitter that it'll likely be difficult/impossible for me to nab one, but I feel like the criticism is at least partially justified...

Kurona wrote:It's not an exclusive, don't worry. It's simply that you can get it at HasCon earlier than at other vendors -- it'll be available in some other form later; likely as some sort of exclusive to Walgreens or Walmart or something.
