I think what people aren't taking into account is that this is probably the only MP Style Unicron we will ever get, even though it's under the "War For Cybertron" toyline.

I'd agree the SW fanbase is larger with some fans standing in both camps. It was 5000 @ $500 x 176% funded so if my math is correct, around 8800 units produced and shipped.william-james88 wrote:I think it was 4000, so half. Plus, unless I am mistaken, I blieve that fan base is much larger than ours.carytheone wrote:But IIRC it only needed 5000 backers. Unicron might have an uphill battle, but I'm feeling he's going make it.

AllNewSuperRobot wrote:That's the thing. We've discussed a potential new Unicron before. He doesn't need to be bigger than Fort Max. His altmode will bulk him out so he looks bigger regardless and as others have already noted, he won't scale with anything, so that aspect doesn't matter either.

EDIT: Reading comments it seems no one on this site wants to back this?![]()
Hope it makes it into production....
If I could, I would. I see the size to complexity to potential worth the asking price. If it were 300, 400 or 450 - we'd still complain. Maybe hasbro are over estimating their market, but if Takara think people will pay the asking price for the new mp prime, this would be palatable to those...

Why do they threaten not to produce if we don't pledge to pay the exorbitant price ahead of time?
Surely they would be better of selling only 3000 copies of this figure, than selling 0.

Yes. Now go to your room and don't play with yourself.

I highly doubt they have the molds already. What they likely have is 3D printed parts of the current design. They won't make the molds until they are 100% sure it is going into production.

Y'all will spend outright STUPID amounts of money for some stuff without batting an eye and then balk and scream about prices on other stuff.
600$ is a stupid amount of money for a figure ... so is 150$....and yet...
