An installment plan or something would have been nice. A month and a half is a pretty short amount of time to gather an extra six hundred bucks of disposable income.
It'd still be way outside the realm of possibility for me even then, but it'd probably be helpful for someone.

Oh gosh, this hurts.
It is so gorgeous! It looks fantastic! I love it all and it looks great!
But, oh gosh, the want might finally have hit the price wall.
6 weeks to put together $600. That would normally be doable for me, but within 4 days of each other, I would be paying for Unicron, the Power Gauntlet, and MP ghost Prime, and I cannot afford to spend $900 in that short of span.
I really hate that, because I want to buy this, I want to back it!
But i really think they needed a payment plan, or a pay 10% or 20% once it has the numbers, and charge the rest when he is ready to ship. They gave us 9 months for MP-44, but only 6 weeks for this, and they are right on top of one another.

The face looks off somehow in these early models and I hope they fix it up. Needs the goatee and the robot teeth make it too busy. They're also not movie accurate! This looks really awesome, but it is an easy pass for me. I could technically make it work financially, aside of the wife kicking me to the couch for a while, but it is just too much for a single figure for me. I wouldn't really enjoy transforming it much for fear of breaking it.

Absolutely stunning sculpt, God be pleased! However challenging collectors to come up with $575 pre-paid in less than 2 months for something they won't receive in almost 2 years leaves a sour taste in my mouth. A longer lead time which allows for better financial planning would have been more reasonable and honorable. It would have been a joy for me to plan for such an investment (and the space/place to display it) but I fear that my love and desire for such a version of one of my favorite characters on such short notice would influence me to do something irresponsible, but I'm trying to choose dignity over desire for once. The weakness is real.

What would make me want to buy this even more is if there will be a Primus/Cybertron accompanying it in the near future. Yes, the price is up there, but it's only about $100 more than the new MP Prime, which is not even half its size. Now that is mindblowingly ridiculous. The only thing I don't like about this Unicron is the face. It's not even close to accurate.

And I thought the Siege figures were overpriced (still really awesome, but expensive). The only way I could justify that price tag is if it was in scale with the Titans. It looks amazing and everything you could ever want in a Unicron, but come on, $575? I'm sure plus taxes and shipping making it closer to $650-$700. I hope you rich people post pictures and videos because that will be the only way I'll enjoy it.

If it doesn't get to production, I wonder if that prototype will ever see an auction, and how much it will go for. I know the G1 prototype that's out there somewhere would cost an arm and a leg, this one might actually cost your first-born if you want it that bad.

This looks gooooood, my only problem (aside from it not being open to international fans, which sucks but I get why) is, as others have mentioned, giving us very little lead-time to scrounge together the money to get it. They should've given a little bit of time between the unveiling and the start of the backing period, and made the backing period itself a bit longer.

Yeah apart from the wrong placement of the cannon and the bad mask gimmick on Galvatron that limits movement, is undersized, and overall doesn't look good and then the dinobots being too small and with all of them having compromised alt modes. For the record I own all these figures and I like them in their own ways but to say that there is nothing wrong with them is a complete exaggeration.

So Galvatron's abysmal "mask" gimmick and poorly placed cannon blocking his elbow articulation with no side-mounting option are A-OK? And the POTP Dinobots being too small and heavily hampered for the sake of the combiner gimmick (poor Slag, they made him into a frog...) with a combined mode only marginally better than Menasor is fine?
