Because they didn't care. They did it for the money. They could care less about the product. Unlike with Star Trek. Perhaps because to them Star Trek was more valuable, and they knew if they screwed up Star Trek, the fanbase was going to kill them.
I agree. I think Hasbro could care less. Just pimp some expensive CGI robots and they're fine with it. The money is in the toys for them.
Star Trek's creators on the other hand treat their franchise with more respect.
