Having just gotten the the MP-5 Upgrade package
- Weapon: Double-Barreled, Armor-Piercing Particle Beam Cann...
I can't help but wonder if Justitoys will make coronation gear for Starscream? Also, if they do make something for Magnus, if Prime's trailer is any indication, which would prefer: a trailer for the vehicle mode, or armor for the robot mode?

The new calves alone are worth it. Megatron can now balance in gun mode with those attached. Plus the attachments can actually shoot (decent range too) when in the cannon modes.

It shoots these little, black bullet shaped pellets. You load one into one of the stock sections (it has a little hole on top), pull back on the switch on the side, and the pellet fires.

Sorry, but I'm way behind. What is this package? Is it an official Takara thing or a 3rd party accessory? How much does it cost?

3rd party from Justitoys. (Same company that makes the Convoy Masterpiece (non transforming) trailer, and the WST Dinobots)
It's an upsize of the original G1 silencer and stock (with detailing added) so your Masterpiece Megatron looks like he did in the cartoon.
$55-60.00 depending on what store you go to. Though I've seen auctions from the Singapore that had a starting bid of $33.00 or so.
Might find one in the local stores or something.

Can we see some pictures of this firing feature? Maybe a scan of the instructions?
(BTW If you do shoot your eye out, I don't want to see a picture of that!)
Agreed i would like to see this. i had no idea that it shoots anything until it was mentioned in this thread

I can't show you the actual firing, but I can show you where this is located on the kit.
Where the arrow is pointing, you can see a tab. You flip that entire piece around and you'll see a hole in the top of it (like on the reissue Megs chest) drop in one of those pellets, slide the tab back 'til it clicks, and it'll fire off the pellet. Even with the silencer attached for cannon mode.
iirc...the reissue G1 Megs has this feature as well.

Wow, that is so cool! I had no idea they'd give it the firing mechanism, since Megs himself doesn't have it.

Not sure if I was just lucky, but I recently preordered an MP-05 from BBTS, it stated it would arrive in December, but I checked yesterday and it had already shipped! I should receive it this week. So if you preordered one this last time you might want to check status. I also ordered the silencer kit, what can you tell me about the new calves? Are they hard to install?

I don't have the add-ons, but the existing calf pieces simply attatch by ball joint, so I imagine the new ones will be the same. A simple 5 second switch per leg should be all.

Re: Having just gotten the the MP-5 Upgrade package
The calfs are indeed plug and play. They make it a whole hell of a lot easier to stand him up, even with the wonking fusion cannon strapped on. God, he's frickin awesome... Absolutely regal, foreboding.
The firing mechanism is crazy. The whole feature is noticeably absent from the packaging and descriptions, probably because it was already so hard to get it imported. My upgrade had an ugly yellow plug on the silencer barrel, which was fairly easily removed and discarded (minus a bruised fingernail).
You get a whole sack of the "bullets", but only one at a time seems to be able to be loaded(as far as I can figure). The firing seems to be done from the "cannon" mode, not when it's attached to the actual figure. The thing has some pop though; it sends the bullet with enough velocity to travel across a room with some impact; children would abuse this easily. Maybe a paintball mod could be done...

I got this set today, I'm gonna open it a little later, I also got 2 WalMart Screamers, so some corination gear would be nice.
On a side note MP SkyWarp is on his way. Is their an ETA on a MP ThunderCracker, cause I can't see my gray Screamer being a full time stand in

Some magnus armor would be sweet!
The Megs upgrade kit is a MUST!!! I haven't opened the bullets or anything, because I figure ... like everything else ... it' won't shoot very far.
Megatron rules. I have him in gun mode with the kit attached right now. Laying across my coffee table, he almost reaches both ends of the table.
33 inches long from end of stock to tip of silencer. Buy it.

A grown man shouldn't love a "toy" as much as I love mine. The metal grips make the most difference, IMHO...
