Me, Grimlock! wrote:I still don't understand why he can't be a cassette player (aside from the resizing). I mean, the Decepticons can't tell the difference between Earth modern science and Earth crap. Just have them copy something from a flea market!

It would be great if Soundwave went to a Toys'R'Us and scanned the Hasbro commemorative reissue. Now that would rock!

Its kind of like Basic Instinct, but not in a good way...
Goddammit, now I can't unsee it.
Thunderscream wrote:I'm gonna take the stance of "I believe it when I see it." After all, Soundwave was planned for the first movie, and they eventually dropped him.

honestly, the best form for Soundwave would be one of the Army's new, experimental microwave tanks. The dish on top would be perfect to create different sonic blasts, thus earning his name. BTW those microwave tanks are awesome...and the 'Cons seem to focus on authority and military vehicles anyways...

I don't understand the idea as to why he has to be a cassette player (though I did enjoy the idea of him scanning a cassette player at a flea market idea, that was pretty clever). I don't see that working well in the movie version. All the Decepticons are various types of war machines (or a cop = powerful authority symbol) and then mighty Soundwave turns into an outdated piece of 80's technology? "Beware humans, or I will eat your cassette tapes!" Give him an awesome vehicle mode, but let him resemble his G1 look.
Either way, I would bet that after the movie airs that 90% of the fanboys/girls will throw a fit anyways. Might as well set yourself up for dissapointment now.
Delicon wrote:If there were 2 things UI really didn't like about the first movie they were A) Lack of real character development amongst a lot of the Decepticons, although Barricade was cool and B) not enough "familiar" Decepticon characters.
By putting Soundwave in there, they can take care of both issues pretty quickly.
They made the first movie a little more for the mainstream so here's hoping now that they have the mainstream audience in tow, that they make this one more for the fans.
I didn't hear Welker's Megatron voice in the Transformer's game, was it really that bad? I've heard his recent Scooby Doo stuff and it's been fine, plus Welker has actually still been active in the business unlike Cullen who had been semi-retired. If you don't want to give Megs to Welker that's one thing but toss us all a bone and let him do Soundwave.

Microwave tank will fit Soundwave well. I thought this kind of tank is just for video games. (Generals, Red Alert, etc.) So they're really making this into a real tank?
