Then what about Rampage (Protoform X), a PART of his spark was extracted and held outside of his body, and then put into Dinobot 2 ... which came to life as a separate life form. If the spark was the soul of Transformer, shouldn't Dinobot 2 BE a clone of Rampage? And if the spark flows through the whole body, how can one extract it without killing the transformer?

I mean, I feel the spark isn't a soul ... it's a heart, I feel that the spark has to be only in that one area, and that it's like a power core ... if the spark is terminated, it's like having a dead battery ... in my opinion, this is why sparks can be extracted and transfered and why a transformer can be reformatted.

I mean, if a spark contained memories, why would Beast Wars have a back-up of them? While I personally think that a spark contains more than just power, I do not feel that it "fills" the entire body, there is circuitry for that.

Optimus Prime: "This is a military mission, not a vendetta, Omega."

Canon says that the spark suffuses the entire body, it does not reside in one particular part. It's stated specifically on page 52 of MtMtE #8. It is the life essence of a TransFormer. That is what canon says, and that is what I go by.

A synonym for one of the uses of suffuse is change, so maybe they mean that instead of flow. If this is the case, the spark changes the Transformer, that makes sense to me. It changes from a robot (or a lifeless machine) into a living being. Remember how the Stunticons and Aerialbots were changed - Vector Sigma gave them life, it gave them a spark. That spark suffused itself to the machines and turned them into Transformers.

This would also explain that when a spark is extracted or expired, that the "host body" stops being a Transformer, it just becomes a lifeless piece of metal. This also explains why Transformers can be brought back from the dead - as long as the spark exists, the Transformer exists.

So I can see both arguments, soul and heart, working in this case. It is like a heart because it sustains the life of a Transformer, but it is also a soul because it gives life.

Or maybe I'm just thinking too much into this because I majored in Religion in college.

You probably are. I thnk your definition also doesn't fit the context in which the word "suffuse" was used. This is exactly what the book says, please pay attention to the first part of the sentence— "The spark itself does not reside in any single set segment of the robot,, rather is suffuses its entire being." In this context, The proper definition of the word "suffuse" as stated in the Webster's Unabridged Encyclopedic Dictionary of th English Language is, "to overspread with, or as with a liquid, color, etc." The Spark energy spreads throughout the body of a TransFormer, it doesn't reside in one part.
