Hello people of Seibertron, I am Whirlproductions, I am here to ask you a question. I have a statistics project that I am doing about collecting so the question is; How many Transformers figures do you have? I suggest that you count up your collection in order for me to get accurate numbers. thank you.

I can't get to mine because they are in storage, but the last time I counted official figures, they were 35. Now, I recently bought Siege Megatron, TR Overlord, SS Blackout, and SS Barricade, so that should be 39 official figures in total!

Problem with counting is everyone does it differently and there's no real consensus on how it should be done right. Some people count sets as one (most count each figure, some only count each if out of the box), some count Headmasters and the like as one (others count them as two), and some don't count duplicates. Personally I count everything with a name as its own figure unless it's an obvious accessory like MP humans or Kremzeeks. By that the last time I counted I was over 1,500, but that was 10 years ago, I'm sure I've broken 2,000 by now.

I had to put mine in storage recently, but when I did I had about 240. Since then I bought several, so let's say I have 250, but the exact number is between 245 and 250.

Combine these two and that's my answer. And to add to that, they're so scattered around on different shelves, it'd be a task and a half to move them around for the counting!

Just walking around doing a quick count (and not counting individual Headmasters and whatnot) I came up just short of 450 on display. I'm certain I have just as many if not more in storage but I gave up really keeping track a decade ago.

My original collection which represented every line from the Original Series (1984) through Energon (2004), at its largest was probably 250+, but they were mostly faction leaders, citybots & combiners. That collection was sold in mid-2007.

I skipped the entirety of everything from 2005-2015, with few exceptions. As my son got older he got the occasional random TFA or movieverse figure.

Since coming back with Combiner Wars, I've only retroactively gone back at got a couple T30 pieces, but I'd say my best estimate is about 170-200. All Generations line released by either :TAKARATOMY:

since 2013. Though again it is mostly combiners and city bots (not so much faction leaders this time, unless they fall into a combining gimmick). Also having all the TM, PM's and BM's (no snickering)...kind of pads that as well.

*edit* oops...I almost forgot my son had some RiD15 toys, he hasn't played with them in so long , I forgot about them...

Oh man, I dread to think how many I have. I have like 9 giant bins filled with toys. And most molds from cybertron, energon, animated and practically all molds since Prime for any line that wasn't specifically targetting younger kids.

Guessing 400+ mark but all my encore/reissues and some MP in storage. At least 12% of that will be just optimus Primes (I was going for one of every version of him from main lines with a few exceptions but since cutting down it is no longer the case -yet whilst having 3 versions of TR Power Master Prime defies the point and I'm still to pick up Primitive Prime for a reasonable price.

Sold off all my animated, almost all beast wars/neo/machines, most Baynus stuff so it would have been near 700.

Titans return/Takara Legends hasnt helped with me ending up with doubles of some figures for paint schemes/characters, titans return headmaster singles etc.

If it takes up space, it counts.

Using the absolute most conservative method of counting (multi-packs as 1, bulk and Mini-Con sold together as 1, etc) I'm at 6,191.

Bit over 400 unlicensed "third party" (misnomer of a name if there ever was one) if those count.

Add in stuff like Battle Beasts/Beast Saga and Go-Bots for another 100 or so if you really wanna get weird.

I would agree it depends how you count your collection. For my all my combiners, I have just counted the main figure, not the 5 or 6 that makes up that particular combiner.

Either way, hey, it is a transformer, you cannot go wrong!

With my wife’s suggestion, I have excel document of my collection, tabbed for particular years. Of course most of the tabs share years, example 84-85 and so on. The last time i was updating it, i was around the 800 mark. Of course this is going off of pictures i ones i know i own. 95% of my collection is in tubs back MIssouri, while I have 150 or so with me here in Virginia.

So I am sure once i get my “Transformer Room” built, I will be doing a more thorough inventory.

Not without some sort of remuneration, that's a full day's work, assuming I could even find all the ones I have lying around somewhere in the basement/closet.

So you'll just have to settle for somewhere between too many and not enough! :-D

Yeah, been into them since before the original 84 releases, back when takara tried their own hat at bringing a few to the states as Diakron then thought better and brought in Hasbro who hired Marvel(and subsidary Sunbow).to give them stories to make kids want them more... :twisted:

Mine is a word document list, i like to keep up with the numbers and who came when and when someone was an important number (like #100, etc.)

Concurring with other on how you count your collection definitely depends on that number count. Attached is a pic of how I have documented mine. Now on the photo it shows only up to 2004 and unfortunately you only see my 84/85 Bots and cons. I have a more updated list that goes through 2019 on a excel sheet. I will say taking the time to list all of your transformers is time consuming but for myself it was a good reminder of what I had. Being in the military, for the past few years my stuff has been back home in Missouri, and I keep a certain amount with me or whatever I buy where I am at.
It does come down to how you want to keep count, or not! If I count the combiners as “1”, I’m in the ball of 750 to 800. I am retiring from the Army in the next 6 months or so, so when I get home my intent is to build my “transformer room” and once I get all them displayed, I think then I will now what I truly have.

Having recently done a count, I have a smidge over 700 counting Construct-bots and the like. It's a sobering realization, really. Especially since I only have 10-15% of that out or on display at any given time
