Those are screws too, but also (loose) pins. The glue shouldn't be that much of a problem if you use just enough force.

Ah ha, I didn't even see those. Thanks for the heads up.
Guess that's what happens when you're in a hurry because your "me" time is limited with two boys in diapers.

There are two screws in each of the lower leg halves, sometimes people miss one of the screws because it is so deep.

Use a sharp knife (heating it in a flame will make this easier) and trim the corner of plastic that's preventing the knee from bending the right way.

Hunh? I don't recommend this at all.

Did you get this figured out? I would suggest dismantling the lower leg. Remove it entirely from the piece it slides on. Turn the knee joint in the correct position and then reassemble. I believe the piece everything slides in is the same on both sides. That should fix your problem.

::EDIT::
Looking at mine my suggestion won't actually work. Sorry.

You're a little late to the party but Superion is cool. We were having a thread about upgrading and generally improving Superion a few weeks ago. Check it out here and if you have any questions or ideas, post them there!

I already have the energon version of superion out on my display shelf. I kinda wanted to keep ROTF Superion MISB.
Doing this part swap should be realtively easy for me to do. as I take apart dozens of Transformers toys per year. when ever hasbro released multiple recolors based off the same mold. I do my own parts swaps between the recolors to create my desired color variation.
The hardest part swap I ever did was Car robots/Rid Gigatron/megatron 6 changer toy mold. that thing was loaded with pressure springs,gears,rivets & tons more tiny parts. I sawpped parts between Rid Megatron & RID Galvatron to create a more black version. I wasn't a fan of the purple colors so I got rid of them.

Every single iteration of the mold has this problem.

Energon, Universe 1.0, Universe 2.0 and RotF all had the problem. I believe all Takara versions were like that too so the problem is the assembly pattern in China.
