TFP Megatron
TFP Megatron

I have always been a bit of a Transformers Prime fan, and particularly of the show's depiction of Megatron.
Alas, I could not seem to find one at the current leader class scale (obviously the toys are a bit older as TFP finished a few years ago, so I decided to take a step up from my usual minor paintjobs and shapeways addons and have a crack at a full remodel...
I started with a leader class TLK Megatron for a combination of the figure shape, head sculpt and weapon gimmick (the 'before' photo I found online, I forgot to take one before I started chopping)
And so far have ended up with this;
Obviously there is still a fair bit of work to go, including more sanding, filling in a few seams, creating some removeable arm spikes, a clean up and a dye/paint job, but given its my first ever go at anything this big, or indeed ever using any epoxy putty for anything, I am rather pleased with how he is going, so thought I would post a photo whilst some of the epoxy cures.
Any thought, advice or constructive criticism would be most welcome...
Cheers,
Y0

I reassembled him to get a clearer picture of just how bad it was... each of the different materials he is made of reacted differently to the dye, so looks like I will be going the route of painting all of him instead of just detailing

Not perfect, but this is by far the heaviest customisation I have ever done so I am rather pleased with the result...

You say it's the heaviest custom you've ever done... In more ways than one, I bet!

* Primus Cyber Key, coattail panel
* Powerlinx Comettor
* Leader Sentinel Prime sword, shield
* RiD Galvy dragon head, beast arms
* Leader Ironhide windshield, R hood assy.
* Cyb. Wing Saber left chestplate (argh)

My crappy phone camera doesn't really do him justice, plus my perspective makes him look like he has tiny legs lol.
Yeah had to fill out all the hollow bits of his legs and feet for balance as he is a little top heavy!
