GRAE It's Not Just an Issue of Black and White

Got a great pic of G1 Op or BW Megs? Whether it's 2-D or 3-D it's welcome as is any other form of art outside the custom figure world.

GRAE It's Not Just an Issue of Black and White

Just a start for now I'll post more here as I get it scanned and finished (as well as convincing myself to draw again..)

Thanks.

This is a preview of the cover I just scanned in. I have to clean it up, add text, some effects, etc. The ad in the first post shows the main character Grae, and on the cover is (working name) Sara.

The art is great, but to dark for my tastes.

Yeah, it was never meant to be a bright happy thing..I actually had started it a few years ago when I was going through rehab after some medical issues. I put them away awhile ago, but pulled them out again..So, maybe it'll spark something more and I'll get back into them. I have about 5-10 pages done so far.

Very nice! The textures and folds on the hair and clothing are very well done, and a good sense of anatomy for the face, body and arms. Nice inking as well.

For constructive criticism you should try studying hands a bit more, yours seem a bit too short, and the fingers (particularly in the first cover) need to have the spaces in between them. Also, watch the foreshortening of the legs on the second cover.

Keep up the good work, I'm inspired!

Yeah, I tried taking a life drawing class, but never went through with it..So I didn't go the whole route of learning actual muscle design etc, so I kinda just wing it..And yeah, I guess the fingers do look a bit small. I never really liked how the shadows fell either, but, eh, it's something. I should do that"under drawing" or whatever, but I always just go for finished pencil.

Thanks yeah, I've never been one to do the under work, just get to it lol. Sometimes it suffers from it, sometimes not.

This is the pencils to page 1, before I can touch it up any. This is an old page, so back then, my style was much more cartoony that how I finished this all. You'll be able to see the difference as I post it.

a famous German philosipher. Basically he believed that existence is mostly negative and had a pessimistic standpoint. I really like him.

Ah interesting. I might have to look him up, find a strong quote or something.

Page 1 pretty much all done now as well, minus the text.

Amazing work! You got me beat many, many, MANY times over in art.

I can't draw people for crap. I stick to stick figures :P

I'm going to add this to my favourites and keep checking back on it. I really like where it's going.
