Yesterday we dissected a frog. Today I got hit in the face with a soccer ball. Not a good week. especially since my current "boyfriend" is a stuffed animal frog

Did you do that thing where you pull the tendons in its belly and its legs move? I freaked out loads of the kids when I was back a school doing that. The benefits of growing up on a farm as part of a medical family lol...

That sounds awesome Psychout! I want to do that now.

I've got one better. My whole class skipped the worm and the frog and went straight to fetal pig dissections! Whoo. They looked like little baby pigs too. I kind of wanted to do the frog and worm after I saw that.

I think one of the helpers tried to do that. Sadly, it didn't work.

Yeah, one of my friends did that today, and she has now announced she's a vegitarian.

Had the wrong tendons then, we made ours dance like the Buggs Bunny cartoon. Also, should you ever go to Europe, I suggest you stop off in France try eating the frogs legs - they taste exquisite.
Phaze is our expert on France, just ask him...

We cant move for the little bugger's here normally, but due to the epically wet weather we've been having most of them are still tadpoles with legs. And this discussion is also making me hungry, I really miss living right at the mouth of the UK/France channel tunnel before we moved up north, I've got a real hankering for garlic right now...

I'm definitely an omnivore, but the thought of any of that making me hungry? Where's my "shuddering in abject revulsion" emoticon?

Anyway, I couldn't get out of biology fast enough. On to drama and choir

I loved Biology. Back then we were allowed to cut up pretty much anything and we had a dissection at least once a term. I've also been a live* dissection of a horse and a cow recently (the horse was one of our own called Xerxes) at the local animal hospital where my better half works as a Vet and as I said earlier and I come from a family with a medical background so it's all second nature to me. I think its very important to understand exactly how animals as we know them evolved as it has an impact on both human and animal welfare and medicine, which has given me a very strong stomach and very healthy appetite.

* Live as in I was actually there watching, not that the animals were still alive, they were both very dead.

Totally understandable. Some people out there have to have strong stomachs for that kinda work, otherwise no one could fix the animals :D

Frog legs are actually really good. I liked them when I had them. And Psychout, I might've liked Biology if my teacher ever stopped giving us notes and actually brought us to the lab. Still, my favorite subject is definitely English.

Mine too, I love English the most. However, I must say, some of the sample poetry they gave me to read was hideous.

Well, you know what they say: "Some things are worth trying, but only once."
