Postby Hotrod » Mon Sep 17, 2007 10:32 pm

I was wondering who else is collecting the Movie and or Energon Collectors cards.

I am/was collecting the movie cards. I keep getting the normal cards, just missing three. It's the special cards that I can't seem to get in the packs. Has anyone had better luck with that?

Which 3 of the normal ones are you missing?

I made a mistake, the Energon cards were not released, but there were Armada cards.

Whew. Thus my confusion! Yeesh, I would have never forgiven myself if I'd suddenly missed out on an entire Energon card collection release, after picking up so many of the Armada cards!

Fleer was supposed to have released G1 and Energon cards but cancelled the releases :-( I am still hoping we will get some G1 cards and Beast Wars cards one day.

Much like the LEGO TF's, HASBRO's TF department is missing a golden opportunity here.

And the GI Joe game one was cool too, and they killed that one too.

Why can't there be a card sets for things I like? It's about me, the consumer, isn't it???

I agree. Sometimes some of these things seem like no brainers so I wonder why not do them. My only guess on the lego thing is Build to Rule did not work as well as was hoped.

I'm kinda glad that Hasbro does not have Transformers collectable/Trading Card cards for G1 and BW.

I was into the DBZ Card Game in a big way, and Sydney, Australia is not the best place to live for cards not called Yu-gi-oh. Have to make specialist trips to 1 of 3 specialist card stores to get them.

Although I agree with TT24, Lego and Cards are two huge markets Hasbro are missing out on.

Part of the appeal of collectors card to me is one of my old hobbies use to be collecting sports cards until the prices per pack became to high for fewer cards and and too many chase cards were being introduced. I still buy a pack from time to time.

Ahhh... G1 Collector cards would be great, and so would Beast Wars. Heck, I'd even take some Beast Machines cards, simply because some of those still shots would be nice to have.

Don't EVEN get me started on the G.I. Joe CCG. I have tons of those cards still kicking around my house ( next to my Middle Earth, Netrunner, Decipher Star Wars, Mythos, Babylon 5... see a trend here? :-x ). I loved that game! It played fast and well, was easy as heck to teach and just generally fun. I managed to get a bunch of people playing it.. then they went a pulled the plug. THIS is why I've yet to even think about buying the Transformers Build-a-Fig game... I'll end up liking it and *blam* it'll die.

Hasbro annoys me to no end with stuff like this, though. I mean, they're sitting on the teams from Wizards of the Coast ( and Avalon Hill!), yet they cannot put out any kind of Transformers game worth a damn. They can do Transformers Risk, and Transformers Monopoly... but they can't do some kind of Transformers board game with it's own rules. We won't even get into the lack of a TF tabletop RPG...
