IDW has updated their New Releases Section with their July 4th releases. IDW will be releasing only on book. It is Transformers: Target: 2006 #4. YOu can check out five page preview in the IDW New Releases Section.

If I'm not mistaken IDW released that last week but was unavailable due to the lack of flexability of Diamonds distribution system.
Diamonds release list that was posted earlier shows that it is out on Wednesday.

If I understand it correctly -

IDW DID release Spotlight: Galvatron last week, it just hasn't physically gotten to the stores yet. Hence why IDW doesn't consider it a July 4th release.

As a comic book store owner, I can only speak for what my invoices say. I did not receive any sort of inference that Spotlight: Galvatron was to have been on my shelf last week. It did, however show on my invoice for this week (books to be received on July 5th due to the holiday on July 4th).

Galvatron is NOT out yet. It should be out wednesday.

I'm a Mod at the IDW boards. We're gonna reboot that reaction thread and lock the old one down.

Comics probably won't hit shelves this week until Thursday in North America, as both Canada and the US had their birthdays this week.

My advice would be that if you're not making the trip until friday, check here or at the IDW boards on Thursday to see if others have seen it/bought it for themselves.

Speaking for myself: If there's anything to learn about the distribution side of the comic industry, its that shipping dates are never, ever written in stone. Any amount of crazy reasons could prevent a book from turning up when its "supposed" to.

I ordered the OLD release of Target: 2006 a week ago at Barnes&Noble. It is the whole series, and I hear it is one of the best comic stories in TransFandom, I can't wait to pick it up this week.

That said, I will wait until I get the collected stories for the Spotlight series, so I will wait on Galvatron, as painful as that is...

Hang on a minute! If US is geting them a day late, does that mean the UK will as well? Which means they wont get here till the Fri? So they wont get put out on shelves till Sat? Can someone please confirm/deny this complete screw up to my plans!

hopefully it shouldnt affect us. the last time the UK had a bank holiday we still got our deliveries in ireland the way it was meant to so hopefully the fact the shops are shut in the US sholdnt mean we wont get ours as usual. of course this all depends when they ship from the US . if THOSE shipping companies are on holidays were fecked.

Can't say for sure if overseas releases will be affected. You should phone up your comic shop and ask them how North American holidays typically affect their shipments and plan from there.

Thanks for the info guys. The truck usually delivers to the shop on a Thurs afternoon, so they must get into the country on the Wed by my reckoning. It should be alright (I hope).
