For those who are unaware, there is a fully licensed G1 styled Unicron lamp coming out soon. It is gorgeous but also has a price tag of $800 per lamp, and you can see images of it here. The images we have below come from Soldier Story Toys' Facebook page and feature several of these (over 20, hence the number in the title) all lined up at the factory for inspection. There are images of these both out of the box and in box. It is quite a sight and we felt like sharing it with you. This item is currently sold out at site sponsor BBTS.

At first when I saw the title of this, I was like "Oh snap! Im not gonna get the Grimlock head lamp! I'll get this one!" but then I saw it and my deepest terrors set in! "NOOO!!" Also...that's basically what you would say if you saw Unicron anyways. ._.

Sold out a long time ago too. Like, within 2 weeks of the reveal. Which is a shame, I needed the money for it but I wanted one

Why does it have a Decepticon symbol? I don't remember Unicron being a Decepticon although he did use Decepticons for his own ends.

Ever since 2006, Unicron's merchandise has been label with Decepticon symbols for marketing purposes (as in, he's been given the "bad guy Transformer" symbol to show that he's a bad guy Transformer), even though he himself isn't actually a Decepticon.

Yeah, even if a character doesn't have a definite faction in-fiction; their toys will be given one for marketing purposes -- it's more a marking or moral alignment at this point. See also movie Lockdown toys.

Or any Lockdown toys, really, since Animated Lockdown was strongly implied to be have formerly been an Autobot, and wore a factionless rubsign, in the show.

Realised that just after I posted; kicking myself for forgetting :lol:

I also feel it's the reason RiD branded its villains Deceptions, even though their all being Decepticons doesn't make a terrible amount of sense in this particular continuity.
