However, it was designed to be a Maximal in the Beast Machines: Battle for the Spark line, with the flip up chest panel being where an aborted spark-crystal-activated gimmick would have been placed.

Color me not surprised. That bot and alt mode definitely fit in well with many of the smaller Beast Machines toys.

I know there's already a couple turtle molds, and a fuzor, and all are pretty good, but I would like to see a new turtle on the shelf someday.

Otherwise, how about some more crypto zoological entries? Sasquatch, Mothman, Flatwoods Monster, etc.

What turtle TFs are there?

I think cryptos would be too silly. The idea of a robot "disguising" itself as an animal that doesn't exist and would attract an enormous amount of attention doesn't make much sense. Might as well disguise themselves as... alien robots. Also, don't the TFs create their alt modes by scanning something? How would they scan something that doesn't exist?

It's no more silly a disguise than the fuzors that have already been made, Rid Bruticus, technorganic beasts from Beast Machines(which included a Unicron), the Beast Hunters Terrorcons, etc.

Plus, we don't KNOW for sure they don't exist

Dado's pretty nice. There's sort of articulation from the transformation. You can pose him mid-stroke like he's swimming. Or digging a hole to bury some eggs in. Robo-eggs.
