Our dear friend Jim Sorenson has updated his blog Disciples of Boltax with the newest page from the Ark Addendum cutting floor. for thsoe that don't know, the Ark Addendum is a book, by Jim Sorenson, that collects the animation models and background art for the original G1 cartoon and it's Japanese Continuations. Since there is so much material not all of it is collected in the actual book, which is where this blog comes into play, each week Jim Sorenson posts a new page for our viewing pleasure!

This week it's the Transformation sequence for Super-mode Ginrai, Godmaster of RAGE!, from the second Japanese Transformers anime show [url]Super God Masterforce[/url]. Ginrai is a human who with the power of the Masterforce can turn into a Godmaster and combine with a transector to fight Decepticons. His toy was released by Hasbro as Powermaster Optimus Prime.

I'm not very familiar with the Japanese stuff, though I have seen Masterforce (Japanese subs) once before. I'd like to get this cleared up:

Human - Ginrai
small transtector (cab) - Super Ginrai
combined transtector ("Powermaster") - God Ginrai
PM combined with Godbomber - ???

Is that right? Or am I missing a step?

OK, you're close.

Human's name is Ginrai.
Small transtector (cab) is also called Ginrai. Just like Minerva is the name of the human and the mech.

Combined transtector (cab + trailer) is called Super Ginrai

Super Ginrai + Godbomber (extended trailer) is called God Ginrai.
