Mold reuse guess for the next combiners

Postby Thormind » Wed May 13, 2015 9:46 am

I have the feeling Bruticus will be almost completly recycled:

Onslaught = Hot Spot (i'm so sure on this one)
Brawl = Rook (easy guess)
Vortex = Alpha Bravo (hes already got the missiles!)
Swindle = Offroad
Blastoff = Probably best candidate for a new mold (but maybe one aeriabot

Computron would also be easy to make with recycled:

Scattershot = Silverbolt
Afterburner = new mold
Lightspeed = deadends
Nosecone = any vehicule mold with an insert for the front drill
Straff = Aerialbot mold with 2 gun inser on the shoulders

I fear we wont be getting Predaking or abominus because all molds would be hard to reuse.

I'm hoping if the line lasts more than one year we get a Titan Predaking. If anyone deserves that treatment, it's the big guy.

With remolding they could probably do Ambominus along with some sort of Dinobot combiner. I don't know if it would take too much remolding to do Seacons or Monstructor, but certainly they could be considered as possibilities if there was some sort of Beast Combiner Wars.

You might want to stick to the Combiner Wars Discussion thread, as most of those guesses have been made/discussed there

Not a combiner but Titan Tryticon would be awesome as well :)

I have been gone for a while; both from the forums and from collecting in general,
but CW has re-ignited my interest for sure.
I'm a pretty big fan of G1 Decepticons so along with what has been released already, I'm excited for the the release of a good Hasbro Bruticus.

I totally see what you're saying with recycled molds... It makes sense.
I just hope Hasbro manages to come up with a couple new ones, specifically for Swindle and Brawl.
Off-road would work, but even in a G1 Swindle color, really would miss the mark imo.
And while I'm really tired of tank alt modes, for Brawl, a 6-wheeled vehicle also doesn't work for me...
Don't get me wrong, you could be spot-on. I just hope that with how a few molds are already being re-used (even with the re-tooling), that the sales can justify a couple new ones for the Combaticons.

I too want a new Predaking... Fingers crossed for that to happen!!

For Combaticons, Vortex from Alpha Bravo goes without saying, while Onslaught from Hot Spot would work just fine. I hope Brawl and Blast Off are original moulds, and I actually think Rook would work better for Swindle than for Brawl. Then again, we're supposedly getting a new Deluxe Trailbreaker so I can imagine Swindle being the new mould and Trailbreaker being its first repaint (it would make a fun reference to Alternators Swindle, which was going to be Trailbreaker early in production).

Generally though, if Combiner Wars does eventually decline into wave upon wave of repaints and retools of the same ten or twelve moulds over and over and over again , it'll get very boring very fast. From what reports have claimed, the fourth wave will be nothing but repaints (Legends Rodimus and Skywarp, Deluxe Ironhide, Sunstreaker, Prowl and Mirage, Voyager Optimus Maximus and Leader Starscream), but I hope that doesn't become a common thing.

It shouldn't, in fact we may get new molds for next year, along with unrevealed pretools of older molds. As Offroad and Dead End have proven, each mold has a max of 2 vehicle shells with 2 heads each.
The resident Rewind... well, half of one :lol:
