I got MP Megs today (unplugged and misb baby) of course I opened him, but I'm extremely afraid of breaking him. I haven't even attempted transforming him yet. I'll get around to it, but I have a question about his arms. Is he not able to move his arms outward? It seems like his shoulder joint doesn't get much movement horizontally, only vertically. They could have helped it a bit if they put a swivel at his bicep, but instead they put the swivel at his wrist.

That's my question for now, but I'm sure I'll have more so I'll just keep posting in here.

Yes, that's correct. His arms are limited. I agree, a swivel at his biceps would have helped a lot. He is sturdier than you think. There are some moments during his first transformation when you will think "Oh don't break." but it's just tight joints and complex transformation directions.
