Yes the battle of the music games has begun GH3 has Iron Maiden and Dragonforce, but Rock Band has The Who and Metallica. Which game will get your money this Christmas.

Harmonix who are now owned by MTV are making Rock Band for EA, Neversoft are making GH3 for Activision.

The Those Tony Hawk dudes are doing GH3 but Both are getting my money. I think I'll get GH3 with the guitar that way I can play GH2 & 3 multiplayer and I'll get Rock band with the Drum set that way I'll have two Guitars and the drums.

Guitar Hero III is getting it. Rock Band's peripherals are too expensive for my tastes when I've already got a guitar through Guitar Hero II. I'd love to play The Who and Metallica songs, but it's too much for my cheap gamer tastes.

As Phategod mentioned the GH2/3 guitars will also work with Rock Band and if you get the 360 version you can use your xbox live headset as the microphone so all that really needs to be gotten is the drum kit.

What Maiden song is in GH3? Has that been said yet?
If there is no Maiden or DragonForce in Rock Band I will be pissed. Tell me it's not a right or liscenses thing!

I'll be getting Rock band with guitar and drums, and vocals if i get a job during school. The guitar just kicks that much ass out of my GH2 1. If there is no Maiden in Rock band i will be disappointed, but the other classic rock bands I like along with the other metal bands I like will hopefully make up for it.

The Maiden song in GH3 is Number of the Beast. As for TTFatF, the intro is so hard the passage is called They're Hammer Ons. HOs and POs have also been changed again in GH3, you can't strum HOs and POs anymore and on some passages you apparrently don't even have to strum the first note(think Thunderstruck intro in RL) which makes it feel more like playing real guitar.

I'm happy about NotB but sad about the Hos and POs as you called them, that's the only way i cna beat the solos, strumming them.

YES! No cover bands for DragonForce and Maiden! I didn't mind the guy for the Trooper but the guy who did Wrathchild sucked.

It seems that there is a Metallica track in there somewhere too on GH3.

Sorry for the double post but Metallica have now put a news story on their website that the Metallica song on GH3 is One. Scorehero have also confirmed that it is a master track.
