Just like Hasbro.

Scale was always a maybe thing with the original line, I tended to ignore it as long as the Bots were generally within a couple of inches of each other - that was about as good as it was going to get. The original Devy was way out of whack for what the cartoon showed so as far as this one goes I'm much more worried about price, quality and time than I am scale.

All I know is Exgraver is a fantastic figure on his own...and he might actually one one of the weaker figs of the bunch. I think these will probably be the most impressive figures in my collection when all is said and done.

Maketoy looks to make an impressive combined Devastator, but I don't think the individual figures will be nearly as nice.

Well I already know I can't own nice things anyway, so if I do get either one I'll go for the one that'll be less of a significant write-off. That aside I'm also in line with those who prefer Devy to be closer in scale with the FP combiners, since I have both of them myself... although I must say there is a problem between the size of those two that's already rather disheartening.

Why do the bad guys always have to be taller? :-(

As for whether or not the individual figures are any good, well... I never really connected with the individual Constructicons like I did the Combaticons, so I don't mind as much.

It's FunPub. It's their specialty.

don't take that to mean I'm a killjoy just because I can be, though...

total tangent/rant regarding scale but still applicable due to the nebulous nature of the constructicons origins:

it rather makes more sense that Transformers are out of scale with eachother. as we all know Teletran-1 was scanning the area for what it assumed were the dominant lifeform to disguise the Transformers as they were being repaired.

there are several factors that would effect Teletraan-1's scan and alt mode allocation. one could assume that the cybertronians have a set volume, with exception to megs, soundwave and others who we see mass-shift on screen. it would make sense that the size of the transformers would remain as they are, but just have a scaled up or down alt mode to fit the body mass of the robot mode.

to put it simply, a short robot who was given a normally rather large cab over engine truck alt mode, like Pipes or Huffer for example, would remain the same volume in alt mode, a small truck. the same applies for the rest of the minibots.

Why would Teletraan-1 do this? the Ark crashed from high orbit and remained offline without maintenance for millions (billions?) of years, perhaps it was operating in emergency mode, or malfunctioning somehow. assuming this, any transformer with an earth alt mode (assuming they were in the crash and were repaired by T.-1) should be out of scale.

but how does this apply to the constructicons? the show was rife with walk-on characters who were assumed to have been there all along, but just didnt appear on-screen in the Ark crash. there are two origins for the constructicons, one being they were created by megatron on earth and another that they came from cybertron. the latter origin coupled with the walk-on nature of character appearances would create an opportunity for a scale discrepancy, which brings me to my point, that this discrepancy could be applied to any toy incarnation of the team.

we now return to our regularly scheduled broadcast...

Yes if we had a supposidly scale devastator, then hed be the centerpoint of the room, or a statue in an entrance hall because he would be that big!

True, but MT is still falling behind. Let's hope they get something out soon.

How so? We've only known about these guys for three months or so. We've known about their Giant project even less than that. How exactly does that amount to them falling behind. Especially considering the RTS Prime Upgrade and their Minibots were supposed to precede this project.
