So this is my first post in this forum:

Normally if one of my figures has a paint application problem, I either ignore it or return the figure and get another. But in this case I can't do either.

Meet Blinky Dirge:

I apologise for the picture quality but if you can't see, my Gentei Dirge has one eye that is leaking a "tear" of red paint, and the other eye is misaligned onto his cheek.

Now I have never repainted a figure before at all, so I would greatly welcome people's advice on how to fix this.

- dont use too much paint

- I usually work my way up = I start with painting the hard to get to stuff and then paint the bigger areas. then you paint over your mistakes. in this case start with the eyes and then do the face.

- mask the stuff you don't want to paint, but then it is best to use protective coating first because sometimes masking tape can rip off your paint . and then you need to start over.

- take your time and think about how you want to approach a repaint.

Thanks, that's really good advice! I didn't even think of masking. What sort of covering would you recommend using under the tape?

Done! With the help of a nice shop lady in Akihabara I got a good red, an uncannily accurate grey and a brush so fine I could tattoo ants...and went for it! Thanks to your advice, I did a better job than I thought possible! Thank you!
