Skywarp could have easily taken over leadership of the Decepticons. At any time he could have teleported and took out an unsuspecting Megatron.
Basically I think the only thing that stopped him was his loyalty to Megs.

Actually, he's just a bit stupid. Loyalty had nothing to do with it. Like his Bio says, he's useless without orders.

Yeah, its the same reason that Trypticon doesn't take over the Decepticons - they're both stupid and are loyal to Megatron.

Pity, it would have been interesting for sure. ^_^

It would be fun to have two seekers stabbing him in the back lol.

Even with teleportation, I don't think Skywarp would be able to defeat even an unsuspecting Megratron.

I seem to remember a couple of G1 episodes were Megatron's leadership was actually threatened, 'Triple Take Over' and 'Starscream's Brigade' to name just two. Each time Megatron survived with his life and his hierarchy very much intact.

Yeah, I'm not sure that Skywarp had what it would have taken. In one issue of the Marvel comics Megatron fights off the Predacons, so he's not likely to get shot once or twice in the back and be down for the count.
I think that's a really interesting thing to consider, but I still think Megatron would have survived.

Too bad Starscream couldn't warp, then we would definitely seem some action. lol.

How would he have "taken out" Megatron??

His weapons werent powerful enough to do the job,he wasnt smart enough to create a new powerful weapon.

Even if he did kill Megatron, it might not mean he would be an automatic choice for leader. Ultimately, it's up to the writers. Maybe someday Skywarp will be decepticon supreme.

I'd also like to add,that Skywarp isn't that powerful & no where near starscreams skill,power,ambition & energy levels.

just because all the seekers have clone bodies. doesn't make them all equals in every area.

There's probably at least one fanfic out there based on Heavy Metal War, where Starscream used that power draining gadget to take all the Decepticons' powers and overthrow Megatron.
