I'm torn between which DBZ version to watch

I need advice from those who are more knowledgeable than I. I just recently picked up the FUNimation release of the DBZ Dragon Box Volume 1 DVD set. Having missed out on nearly all versions of the English dub of this particular series (aside from an occasional episode or two), I have not seen the English dubbed version of any of the episodes included in this set.

I am aware that it is the most recent re-dub by FUNimation themselves and that, despite its attempt to be truer to the original Japanese version than past dubs, it is still not quite there and contains some changes to the dialogue such as character/attack names and certain spoken lines differing.

I have also not seen any of the original Japanese version at all, which I also hear is more enjoyable hence it being the original story and unaltered from any dub. I usually tend to favor the original Japanese version if its English dub differs noticeably enough from it.

However, I have been currently watching the English dub of Dragon Ball (Z) Kai on TV and have gotten used to these voices, which are almost all the same ones as those from the English audio track on this DVD set. Meaning, that I am in more of a preference of these English voices right now than I am of the Japanese ones.

So now, I am unsure of which version I should watch. The more accurate, unaltered (yet foreign) Japanese version? Or the more familiar and easier-to-understand (yet still somewhat altered) English version?

I also do not have the time to watch both.

Also note that these sets only contain the Japanese music score, so no dub BGM.

So this is a matter of English or Japanese? Stick with whatever you're familiar with. When I started watching Gundam 00 and 00 S2 in Japanese subs, I watched the English dubs for a few episodes and I wanted to rip my eyes out. On the contrary, I watched Gundam Seed in English, then I watched the Japanese with subs, and that was also hard to deal with. It's a matter of familiarity and which voices you're more comfortable with.
