I'm sure most of us have bought some, or all, of the G1 Re-Issues from Toys R Us. Because of safety reg's the missiles for Starscream, Skywarp and Thundercracker were enlarged, and elongated, and look like lances in their launchers. Here's my solution:

First, I cut off the nosecones. Then using a 5/32" drill bit, I drilled holes in the nosecones about 1/8" deep. Not to damage them, I folded a small piece of cereal box cardboard and placed the nosecones in a vice.

Second, I chopped off about 7/8" of the notched end of the shafts, so when inserted into the launcher the nosecone is about 1/16" from the launcher. I then used model glue to attach the pieces together.
