First off ano its a silly lil problem to bring up about the G1 cartoons, but i was reading the Mark Bellomo TF guide and he brought up an interesting point about how the attachments that help form a gestalt, comes from a place refered to as Negative space (or as i like to say the null void (ben 10 lol).
So theoretically this place should exist right?
Because technically u dont see gestalt team members walking around with bits and pieces of who they combine to, its not like Blades and Firstaid have massive thumb wars all the time just because they carry round the fists for Defensor (interesting thort though lol)
So whts u guys take on this?

I dont meen to insult you but you must be losing your mind
Or at least your memory. In the G1 cartoon those extra parts your talking about would kind of grow out of the indivivual team members. As if those parts were inside them all along.

I like to think that those combiner parts are formed from energy, kind like Voltron's blazing Sword. They just create the parts as they combine. Can't see how some of those parts can be hidden away inside. (I understand this is a cartoon, I'm just saying...)
That's why I like my Landfill gestalt- all his parts are already present in his component robots, nothing comes from our of nowhere. Win.

my general view is that they arn't just inside, but actual parts of the bots, that transform into said gestalt part during the combining process!

Of course, this brings up the matter of where Transformers' weapons are (other than in Beast Wars). Many have said that their weapons are stored in pockets of subspace, like extra-dimensional "lockers."
I agree that the gestalt parts seem to be built in. After all, they were specially designed to combined. However, if the pieces aren't part of the robots, they could be in subspace, too (like Prime's trailer).

The weirdest thing is I never questioned disappearing weapons, trailers, parts as a kid, so it really doesn't bother me now. I must be easily conviced.

With regard to the gestalts, I figured the 'real' characters had much more complex transformations than the toys did - I mean, they were just toys. The anatomy of a real flesh and blood person is much more complex than that of a Barbie.
