In my experience, there are four types of boys/girls for us:
The type of one who hates and resents your collection
The type of one who fakes interest for you
The type of one that is a fan of something else, so understands your fan-ness
The type of one who loves what you love.
the second would be the most common, I see the first as divorse worthy(She hates what I love, she hates me, same can be for dogs here too, I cannot live without one), third and fourth are what I am aiming for ^^
Introducing your TF love to friends and gf?

My gf refuses to watch the 86 movie or the series ...then she see's the new movie and what do you know she loved it so much she begged into going 3 more times for a total of 4 trips. Dont get me wrong, I wanted to see the movie as well but I had to make her beg a little because it was just too awesome that she didnt want to just see it for my sake, but for hers. haha... phase one in mind control complete...
But i just got lucky and found a wonderful woman, she now loves TF's and loves sports so im good there. .....
BUT... I didnt let her know about my TF collection for about 7 months. Stereotyping is bad but it cant be helped sometimes. The world beats into your skull that toy collections and D&D fantasy type stuff is bad.... and people just need to get to know you before you let that stuff come out. Unless they have a love for it as well..then its something in common.
just for your own sake, dont play with the TF's in front of her for a while or in front of your friends unless you want to give them a reason to make fun of you for a while. If you keep your collection displayed, also try to keep it down to a few TF's while company is over....
But for me, when someone looks odd at me for my love of TF's...I tell them its not the kid stuff that fascinates me, its that it has many of the things that guys love all into 1....lets see
1. Robots
2. Cars/Vehicles
3. Weapons/war
4. action/adventure
.... geez if it had food, sports and sex with hot women added on to that list....... the definition of perfect would be found.
I have always said that if they ever found a way to have TF's grow up in a believable fashion, it would be a huge hit....and this 2007 movie is proving it.
But as far as friends..... all friends are different but from my experience , anything they can find to make fun of you and have a good laugh at, they'll do just that... Even if they love TF's theirselves.. just what friends are for you know.

QFT. Good stuff man.
Have to agree with your list of reasons to like TFs.

sometimes i just never tell them cuz almost all my friends are somewhat "rude" type or "videogame" type, they think buyin transformers is childish and stupid so i just dont tell em, about a girlfriend...i dont have one...never had...i hate my luck..

My fiancee was willing to go to the movie with me, and she thought it was alright, but she's not a fan. She tolerates it, and knows enough about Transformers to talk about them. "That movie wasn't true to the source! Bumblebee didn't suck!!!".
She does love Harry Potter, though. She only reads the books and watches the movies, however, but isn't interested in much else of the merchandise.
Here's a test for all of you worried about if your girlfriend likes them. If she wants you to get rid of your collection and refuses to listen to reason, dump her. You shouldn't have to give something you enjoy up like that for anyone as long as it doesn't hurt you. If you're doing Cocaine then yeah.... dumping that would be in your best interests.

Not that their approval matters, but if you want them to like it.
anyway, how did you do it and any success?
Thanks
Surround yourself with them and you will be the talk of the office. Many of my peers simply come into my office to just stare. Take a look at the pic.

Longs for the days of G1 where we only had to worry about Megatron, Soundwave and Laserbeak wanting to be Autobots, Swoop calling himself Tracks and Slingshot calling himself Slingslot!
