Yeah, the Rat Trap I have is the bright red, Fox Kids variant! It came after the first Transmetal release (also red), then the blue variant. It was the only one my favorite vintage store had, but I had to have him.
I really enjoy the Neo head sculpts -- the fact that they gave Stampy a smirk is priceless. Why couldn't they do that for any version of Starscream...?

I think I have all those TM2 Fox Kids releases. If I recall I was probably off on a Star Wars tangent when the first round hit, and I scooped up all the FK ones once the hit the pegs.
Bod you know who is super dope? TM2 Waspinator!

Transformers Beast Wars Metals Waspinator (Waspitter) GalleryClick it to go to the gallery and check out his dope 3rd mode. Fighter jet!!!!
Fox Kids Deco. ( the one I have)

And I would guess the reason Starscream's original toys didn't have the smirk is simply, from his Diaclone origins he was an emotionless mech. It wasn't until his Westernization that he got any characterization. There's plenty of smirky Screams these days though.
That's a lot of zations!

TM2 Waspittor looks like a mean machine! Very cool.
I should have specified G1 original Starscream, as well as his recent Generations Leader incarnations for smirk-slacking! For the latter, I'm sure there are options.
Who's your go-to for Starscream, Cobo? Mine may very well be Bearscream lol

Bearscream? Enlighten, please.
I hate Starscream. I've always hated the character. But, I guess I'm really supposed to.
Best to worst Seekers for me goes: Skywarp, T'cracker, Starscream.
I think my defacto Seekers are probably the Classics molds, but I do really enjoy the TRU MP Screamer from a few years ago.
As for toys, I love the Cybertron mold, which I only have as Dirge.

My bad. For some reason I keep thinking this 3rd mode schtuff designates TM2. It do not. Totally TM regs.
TM2 are the likes of Cheetor Extreme, and Pile-O-Noodles Dinobot. As well as Drag-a-tron and Optimal Optimus Primital Primimus.

The Kubrick Bearbrick figures came out circa 2015, and included Megz, Op & Bee!
And to be completely honest, the first Starscream I personally bought was the recent Generations Leader! Mainly cuz he included The Crown, and he looked imposing enough.
I never liked him either, but as a conniving betrayer to the Decepticon throne, he is essential as a G1 'Con.
I always liked Skywarp, though.
In Beast Wars last night, TM Dinobot appeared! RIP, Maximal Dinobot....
I've been tempted to get the Classic molds for the Seekers and a few others. Definitely interested in a Dirge, Ramjet, etc.
My friend is a big fan of Kubrick figures, so of course he found these and got me one for my birthday last year.

First Optimal Optimus.
My Beast Wars collection is growing, but slowly. It's much cheaper than the Pretenders, and fortunately, my list is a bit shorter.
Then Rattrap (& Stampy!). And now, bzzzzzzzzzzz! (Coming soon from eBay; I paid a little over $20 to see Transmetal Waspinator on Saturday!)

I bought Beast Wars Neo BAZOOKA last night. I probably overpaid by $10-15, honestly, but I really wanted to add him to my collection!
As a new fan of Beast Wars, I knew virtually nothing about Beast Wars Neo -- thanks to Shaj & Cobo, though, I've been enlightened on figures I had no idea I wanted; after learning of the only incarnation of an ankylosaurus (my favorite growing up), and seeing these colors, Bazooka shot up to the Top 3 on my random list! I had read his US incarnation, Slapper, wasn't of the best quality....I read nothing of the sort regarding Bazooka, but we will see once he arrives. I can't wait to take pics! Same with Waspinator.

I finally finished Beast Wars! I suppose Beast Machines will tell me what shall become of G1 Megatron's spark (it still resides within BW Megz, right?)...I loved the brief return of Dinobot and Waspinator's Happy Ending. The series was as excellent as I'd heard, and is a classic for me now, as well.
I was casually reading about Beast Wars Neo, since I got Stampy, and have Bazooka on the way. The practicality & battle capabilities of the Neo Maximals is a bit suspect (Bunny? Giraffe? What am I saying? We already had a rat!), but cool because they're unique, new molds. Then I came across the more interesting characters, including HEINRAD: a tanuki that transforms into a time-bending bot. Who also happens to be hung, more than any robohorse. I'd say Big Convoy must be overcompensating with his Big Cannon; I blame Heinrad and his Big Cojones. Anyway, all that put Heinrad at #1, so I had to go on a Beast Hunt! I scored him Opened/Complete for $50. Speaking of robohorses, Mach Kick is also odd enough to make my list.
Top 5 MOST WANTED BEASTS:
Mach Kick (BWNeo)
TM Tarantulas (BW)
Rhinox (Generations)
Optimus Primal (PotP)
Magmatron (BWNeo)

I'm on episode 6 of Beast Machines now, and I am enjoying seeing things shakeout on Cybertron, after Beast Wars.
I'm getting used to Primal's new, spiritual modus operandi, but admittedly miss the fast & loose approach he had in BW. But considering the state Cybertron is in, I really can't blame him for this change....especially since the Oracle saved him and the others we currently have accounted for. The tone is definitely dark, but I'm very excited to see who returns, and the ultimate fate of Cybertron. I like Blackarachnia and Cheetor's new looks, and am glad the CG is still by Mainframe Entertainment Inc. For any other Beast Wars fans, have any of you watched Neo or Beast Wars 2?

In the bonus features. there is a partially constructed deleted scene where Primal returns Megtron's spark. They intended to include it in the episode but either time or money caused them to scrap it. I'm really happy you enjoyed it, and love the way they handled it. The whole "this is all happening because it's meant to" thing they did. it's one of the few sensical ways to explain time travelbodrock wrote:I finally finished Beast Wars! If you didn't instantly hate it, that makes me super happy!

I never really questioned his new spiritual direction. I researched it a bit, and I think what I found out was that VHS's or DVD's were very rare, and/or the translations were very poor. Hopefully someday someone like Shout Factory (they're the ones releasing stuff now right?) does them up proper and releases them for us.

Hi Shaj~
I'm glad they thought about "correcting the timeline" regarding the restoration of Megatron's spark. And I absolutely agree -- I also enjoyed how the Beast Wars were part of the "ancient legends" preceding the G1 war!
I almost pulled the trigger on a loose, complete Magmatron via mandarake for 7500 yen -- but when I went to pull the trigger, he was gone. All other prices are around $150, unfortunately.
I'm glad I didn't hate it from the get-go either! But I really like the premise, Shaj -- Megatron committed mass genocide on Cyberton with his virus, giving him control. It's definitely different from G1 and BW, and I'm cool with that.
Rattrap was able to finally transform. I miss his old form, but I'll live. Megatron's mecha-shell is kinda cool; good thing he can still transform. As much as I enjoy my rose-colored glasses when rewatching G1, BW & BM may hold-up better thanks to the smaller, well-developed cast.
Yes, Shout should definitely release the other Beast Wars on DVD! I'm really curious about them....I still need to watch those other Japan-only series, too.

See, and this is why BW/BM Megatron is so highly regarded. He, unlike virtually every other incanration of the character, has actually succeeded in his heinous acts. He DID shoot Optimus Prime in the face almost killing him and altering time, he DID for all intents and purposes enslave ALL of Cybertron, ect. That Megatron, is a bossbodrock wrote:I really like the premise, Shaj -- Megatron committed mass genocide on Cyberton with his virus, giving him control. Yeah Rattrap sucks, but serves an important and symbolic purpose to the story. And Megatron's robocoat is cool AF. I love his new outlook, how he's disgusted with the beasts and his former self. This character development is confusing to most as it comes out of nowhere and isn't ever really explained. But I think it's easily explained (to me) as he lost the BW, hard, and was looking at something to blame. Hence his hate for everything Beast.bodrock wrote:Rattrap was able to finally transform. There's two definitive Megatron forms to me: TM1 Megatron, and... one you might not have seen yet from BM. I think they represent him at his greatest moments. However neither are my favorite... my favorite Megatron form is... also one you haven't seen yet in BM.
