No, but based on abandoned SOC concepts given to another company that could do it for cheaper (and bigger). On my phone now, will put pics later and we will all debate if I should jump on the epic deal or not.

Ok, Cobo, so here is the low down on what I (might) have in store.

So here is Gaikin in the 70s

Same creators and Goldorak and Mazinger and the rest, same aesthetic too

They made a new series in 2005

With these mecha

Bandai did make a few Gaikings

But not the other two. Instead...

Bandai had planned on making Raiking and Balking in the GE line, but decided to can them after all. They sold whatever designs they had completed to Most Wanted, who agreed to produce the complete, interchangeable set at a larger scale and market it outside of Japan (so as not to interfere with domestic sales of the GE-10).

And this is the set Most Wanted made:

And you can mix and match all the parts. Each are pretty huge.

And Combine it into a bigger robot

The price was 225 USD back when it came out, but people were able to get it for 150 USD. I can get it for 90 CAD (which is 70 USD) and thus am contemplating it.

I KNEW you would go nuts for it!

Yeah, guess I will buy it. And these things are so huge that with shipping to the US, it might come out to those original prices they went for. The original review said it was impressive to have a company have a set where it was less than 100 per figure, and now i can get all three for less than a hundred all together. My only problem is how big they are. But it looks crazy worth it.

Oh and the person I am buying it from also has these SOC in case you are curious:

Sure thing, will be picking it up tomorrow. The cool thing here is that there are no images online of how you can interchange parts amongst them. There are sevral combinations that have never been seen (mainly because only 1 combination is show accurate). I will post a link to my own collection thread so as not to hijack Cobo's thread here.

And question for Cobo, I just got elita 1 and hungurr and hate them both. They feel so damn cheap. How different is the strength of the ratchets on your hungurr's elbows?

I can imagine they would be interchangeable due to the nature of the combination, so it will be fun to see the others. Are hunn grr and elita really that bad or is the qc on yours terrible?

Well I dotn know of others, just mine. And the qc on my HUng gurr is baaaaaad.

But overall both feel a bit. Espcially Hun Gurr's hands and Elita's thighs, that plastic feels off.

As for Elita and Hunnnn Gurrrrrrr, mine seem fine.
Hum Gum's Elbows are fine, and his jaw ankles hold up his weight. Now that you mention it, I remember thinking, Har Gur's hands will need to be handled carefully. they do seem kind of brittle. Plus, There were a lot of Silverbolt's with broken hands. Across all his mold use. That pin is always tight and the hand's hinge is thin. Hum Drum makes a great torso too. Tabs up real tight and his joints are solid.

Also I don't see a problem with Elita's thighs. They look and feel like the same plastic they've been using since CW. I think it's the same white plastic used for some of the other parts. Her biceps, hand/combiner ports, and panels on her legs.
Can you better explain what's weird about it to you, Billy? Is it exclusive to just the thigh parts?

Only shity thing about her is her shoes are on the wrong feet!

And honestly both their stickers are highly serviceable. Not perfect, but not terrible. I think they are just luck of the draw.

Still, these stickers be damned! They're all gonna fall off eventually. Guaranteed!

I guess its not just the plastic but how loose the connection in the thighs is to the rest of the leg. I don't like it, its not stable.
And thanks for the feedback regarding Hung Gurr, I guess mine is super faulty, will have to bring it back. As for Elita's feet, the are attached by screw and not pin, so they should be an easy fix.

Left you a note about that amazing trio. So Dope!

A lot of folks, including D-Max have reported on the fix for Elita's feet, and apparently it's not quite as easy as it looks.
I guess the two halves of her calves are glued together, and the combiner port lock/clip piece makes it more difficult.
I may try it eventually.

GOOD NEWS! That SOC bot finally popped back up on the tracking radar. He is in town and should be delivered today.
I'm real excited!

OH **** EE-YAY-YUS!!!!!

He has been awoken from his ancientt tomb. The MIGHTY RAIDEEN!

I knew him first as a Shogun Warrior in the late 70's. My older bro had a bunch of the 6 inch diecast toys. He was always my favorite. Maybe because of his transforming aspect, but most definitely because of his God like Egyption Pharaoh falcon design. I just love that head sculpt! After digging through my Bandai collection recently, and remembering how much I like the big Sofubi Mazinger I have, it reignited my love for the old guys. I figured it was time to find a big boy version of my favorite guy. And He and I are the same age. His anime aired in 1975. The year I was born. It's like it was meant to be.

Maybe Raideen's God Bird mode is actually my spirit animal. :lol:

Now to find time to open him. :BANG_HEAD:

Nice cobo! Very nice! I was looking/lusting after that set myself because of the head Base display, and because I love the raideen design. Ah the 70s was a very good time for super robots. If I remember correctly, the father of real robots (one yoshiyuki tomino) worked on the production of the first Raideen anime.

I've been so STINKING BUSY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gramatron is in town and her birthday was this past Friday. For her gift, we took her to a state park about 30 miles out of Omaha where we rented a really lovely deluxe cabin for one night. All the Trons went and despite the horribly wintery weather, we had wonderful time. Just the kind of thing my old Mama loves.

But, it kept me away from really digging into Raideen.

Here is a quick pic of his awesomeness so far.

He is so deliciously diecasty! He has so many parts and options it's rediculous. I haven't even had time to transform him into God Bird, or even unpack the stone monolith head he sits in.

Soul of Chogokin is certainly the Masterpiece line of the Bandai world.

Here's hoping this week is a little more chill. ;)^

Those kinda getaways are what we enjoy in the 'Rockers household too. But because we added a puppy recently, we've been doing more daytrips and staycations.

Bodrock@ what of puppy did you get? My family are quite mad and we got two just after Xmas (not to worry though they are only shih tzus, so not too big and our cat already has them in their place)
