I could just imagine the reaction... Scary reaction mind you.

Allow me to explain what's happening guys. This happens on every forum this time of year EVERY year.

You have back to school season. This means, the kids that aren't complete spazzes are adjusting to actually DOING something again, which equals stress. School in GENERAL equals stress.

As well, you have the spazz kids that are just looking to goof off during school or aren't allowed on the computer at home (Something which needs further tightening I think) coming online and going flat out effing NUTS.

ALSO we have the release of the Transformers Movie a short while ago, which attracted not only your regular rush of 5 minute fans, nerds, con-addicts and haters, but as well, Transformers are a niche hobby. The average person doesn't incorporate transformers into any part of their life save for 80's trivia. Ergo, you have people who dislike the place for us having different tastes.

In addition to this, you have the standard inflow of assholes, kids, ignorants and combatants. This lays stress on otherwise intelligent and well going users. And so the cycle of idiocy ensues until one of two outcomes occur.

1. We all go batshit insane, and it comes to be that the world ends not in fire so much as flames and the Cat5 tentacles of satan choke the life out of this place.

2. The TF fad (to the average person) passes, the kids get caught or mellow out and the mods and admin catch up with warning/banning the newcomers that don't leave on their own. Thus we are returned to our happy and natural state of being.


That's just kind of the circle of life on the internet. You'll see a surge around Christmas as well, just not as strong. If you remember correctly, there's a surge at the very beginning of summer too.

This site has existed for many many many years. I joined in 2003 and I believe I was told it was up 4-six years prior to that. Nothing remotly like what is occuring now has ever happened to the site to my knowledge or experience.

We have an influx of new people yes, but mostly its a select few individuals who are making trouble, that brings other in on it and everything just goes bonkers.

It's a whole new ball game as far as I'm concerned.

When I was new, you did what the mods said or you got suspended or banned. Plain and simple. If you don't want to pay by our rules, don't play at all. That kind of philosophy. We also had a lot less members. It was a tight community of regulars that everyone knew and got to know.

Now it's a large body of the new and old and constant changing. It takes time to adapt to this kind of deal.

But I think we have an awesome community here with tons of potential. I've been here for over 4 years and like hell I'm gonna leave because some people can't get along.

As long as you're taking into account that public interest in the Transformers franchise and all things associated either directly or indirectly with it has taken a severe spike, I'll believe you.

On the other hand, thanks to the debut of the 09 Camaro in the film, things are going nuts on the car forums as well. I recently removed myself from the ones I frequent because we're getting all kinds of idiots over that way.

I dislike stupidity... and it runs a muck over there.
