Springer v.s Grimlock

Postby AxiomScion » Mon Jul 09, 2007 12:10 pm

Three changing wrecker leader v.s. former LSC leader and baddest Dinobot.

I'm talking IDW continuity but if you'ld like to mention other versions going at it then by all means.

I'm not sure how to call it myself... :-?

Grimlock wins in every continuity except Season 3 of the cartoon.

Grimlock, Springer would be more evenly matched against Slag IMO.

That depends...is Grimlock...alive? haha...Grimlock totally wins this, maybe after taking a bit of damage while watching how Springer uses his three modes in the fight, and the crushing him. Although I do agree that Springer could probably take some of the other Dinobots. Especially Swoop.

Springer should be able to take Swoop and Snarl and maybe be a match for Slag and possibly Sludge but Grimlock is just too tough and too brutal of a fighter for Springer to effectively combat. Winner Grimlock

I remember a while back we had a thread of vs. between the five Dinobots, which I keep thinking about when looking at this.

Putting in Springer here is how I would rate:

Grimlock is best no matter what.

Snarl might defeat Springer if he is fully in the sun and full power, but he doesn't stand a chance against Springer if he isn't.

Slag and Springer is a close one and probably the match-up that I would pay tickets to go see.

Swoop and Sludge won't stand a chance against Springer. Swoop is too much of a light-weight, even in the skies, and Sludge is too slow, physically and mentally.

Springer isn't so much a wimp as everyone seems to think. Look at his stats, for one thing. He's among the strongest of all Autobots, probably behind only Prime, Grimmy, and a handful of others (Fort Max, for one). His melee skills, while not quite as good as Grim's, are nothing to sneeze at, nor the rest of his abilities. In terms of how nasty and tough he is, think Cyclonus or someone similar. He would defeat any of the four other Dinos in a one-on-one bout, and give Grimlock quite a run for his money. Not beat him, but do far better than it seems people are giving him credit for.

He didn't get to be the leader of the Wreckers just because he's a nice guy everyone likes. That's like being in charge of the Delta Force in the U.S. Army - you've gotta be able to walk the walk as well as talk the talk.

i came online to post this exact fight. grimlock beats springer, sunlight snarl should beat him, the dinobot bios in dreamwave indicate hes the second strongest when hes in the sun. sludge im not sure about, hes slow, but hes still freakishly strong and durable. i think sludge would have a slight advantage. slag would be a perfect match for him i think.

swoop is really underrated, but hed lose to springer too. if you took at their tech specs and factor in speed, strength, firepower and everything else but rank, swoop comes second to grimlock. he doesnt have any 9's or 10's, but he doesnt have a serious speed impediment, and his durability is still listed as 9. in a physical fight against the other dinobots hes at a serious disadvantage, but before hed brought to ground he should be able to do a decent amount of damage to them to even the odds.

anyway, back to topic, grimlock wins.

I think this one i agree with the most. Being the best trained by Kup in some continuities, and leading the wreckers in others, i feel better giving Springer more credibility than Hotrod. Grimlock may have the experience and endurance advantage but with Springers speed and intellegence there is a lot that can happen.

I'm an avid Swoop fan myself, on the ground i'ld expect him to scrap many seekers individually, his wings are just too fragile for a dogfight.

While Grimlock isn't exactly dumb, and i never said he was, he's not known for exploiting his intellegence. Springer is a creative new comer and smarter than the Dinobot leader. While it doesn't garuntee a win, it should warrant the possibility of one.

True, but Grimlock is a tough nut to crack.

Grimlock wins by superior strength and fighting ability. Springer would turn into a helicopter and fly away.

In IDW (MTMTE) after LSTOTW, Grimlock is captured and becomes a mental vegetable. He's in no fit state to fight anyone for a long time.
