Agreed, Comic Shockwave is a worthy opponent for anyone, Cartoon Shockwave couldn't hit a barn if he was inside it.

Replace Sixshot with Shockwave and Jetfire with Prowl and this fight becomes a different matter.

Jetfire to Prowl? Isn't that a too big downgrade?

I think that Starscream would be defeated by Jetfire, Grimlock would be beaten (not easily) by Sixshot, Megatron shoots Magnus to gain numerical advantage, then teams up with Soundwave to defeat Optimus, while Sixshot battles with Jetfire, and when finally Prime has fallen, (probably Soundwave falls in the battle, too) Megatron and Sixshot shoots down Jetfire.

So Megatron can just shoot Magnus? If that is your match up then the time it takes for Megatron to take out Magnus Prime would have wasted Soundwave and Megatron would likely be facing Magnus and, at worst, a lightly damaged Prime. Megs goes down.

Magnus was a good target in every cartoon. He couldn't dodge the shots from the sweeps in the movie, neither the shots of Sixshot in Headmasters. A blow of the old Fusion Cannon would send him to the scrapyard. I think Soundwave could hold Prime for a time. I don't think that Prime would hold a chance against a normally energon-loaded Megatron. In the movie, Megatron had killed a lot of autobots 'till he faced Prime, and Prime was fully charged when he arrived to Autobot City to face Megs.

If Soundwave have his cassettes (hell, even if it was just Ravage and Laserbeak, both of whom have been able to at least distract Prime for a good while, sometimes taking him down completely) then Prime would be in alot more trouble than people think. Soundwave always gets underestimated with his little army.

However, without any cassttes, then Prime would take SOundwave down quickly.

As for Jetfire taking out SS, in two different eps Jetfire was knocked out by one shot from SS. And a kick to the chest from Kickback (the useless insecticon) broke his transforming curcuits. So that guy is pretty much useless.

To recap: Ultra Magnus, Optimus Prime, Grimlock & Jetfire vs. Megatron, Soundwave, Starscream & Sixshot.

This would be a huge firefight. Sixshot and Starscream would lure the Autobots to an ambush. Megatron and Soundwave would be waiting in their shrunken modes. They'd expand and shoot the Autobots in the back or at least by surprise.

I think that the Decepticons could win. It depends how fast and tough the Autobots really are. We know that Autobot heroes have a great deal of 'plot armour' as well as regular armour. This could go either way. It's down to the writers.
