Hey, considering how origins are usually completely mucked about in hero movies, this is pretty close to the original story. Look at things like Fantastic Four where they change it from being a race to get to the moon to cosmic ray research, they make Sue and Johnny into a scientist and pilot, when they were once a fashion model and a kid. They make Doom a part of the crew when he wasn't even there in the comic. Worse yet, look at Hulk where they just completely threw the comic book origin out the window.

This audio story and the movie follow each other action for action, only updating the technology (transistors become higher tech), making it happen now instead of the 1960s, and moving it from an Asian war location to an Arabian one.

I'll give you that the Iron Man film stuck pretty close to the original theme as possible considering for the taste of the mordern movie go'er.

But my point was that it was not "nearly identical" to the audio file you provided.

And that being said even that audio story was changed from the original story it was based on.

I have Tales of Suspense #39 in my collection and I know that the story was modified for the audio story....most likely for PC reasons.

That being said it seems [at least to me] that the Marvel Movies being made have more of a "Ultimate Universe" twist to them.Maybe not all of them but the Spidy,The FF,Dare Devil,X-men and Iron Man [to some extent] films all seem to be heavily influenced by the "Ultimate Universe" versions of those characters.

I think a bunch of people have said this (but there are six pages to this thread already) but Thor, Cap, Ant Man, and Luke Cage all have movies coming out. And with Hulk coming out soon, that about rounds out a decent character list. And there's a Black Panther movie planned, too. Was he ever an Avenger?

They also have a Nick Fury movie listed for 2010.

Yes the Black Panther was an Avenger durring the late 70's and early 80's.

I don't remember reading this on here yet. Did anyone notice in the scene where Potts finds out he's Iron Man, after the stuff with the terrorists and the jets, that on the table behind him as she walks in that part of Captain America's shield is on the table?
I didn't notice this, but Scifi.com's new's section and a site they link to mentions it and has pictures.

Unfortunately I won't get to see the movie again till it hits DVD so I'll have to wait to see the scene to see it in there.
