Just want a few opinions
I have just got into Beast Wars and I have been buying and opening a few figures for display.I still have a few in boxes I,m just taking my time opening them.I also have all my Universe figures still MISB and some of them are from the Beast Wars line.I'm debating on opening the Universe beasties and displaying them with my regular Beast Wars.Or should I wait and just display all my Universe together as a separate entity?I'm just curious what some of you would do?

I rarely mix lines, the only exceptions are with the G1 titaniums like Rodimus Prime, I stuck him in as a classic. As for mixing Beast Wars with universe I wouldn't since the colours are different and can't substitute as characters from that universe. Its ultimately up to you.

Living in the UK, where we never offcially had Universe, I tend to put my very few Universe figures in the apropriate line.
Minly thats RiD for the repaint RiD Prowl and Sideburn I have, and with my Micromasters for the Micromasters gestalts (even though in this country they were relased in Energon or Cybertron packageing. (For some reason we STILL have the constructicons in Energon packaging, even though the Airalbots and Trainbots in Cyb packaging have long gone.)
Mind, I also tend to put my RiD Ruination with the rest of G1.
I guess it's a case of what does and dosnt look out of place with the rest of a line.

Yes, why is that?
I mix lines freely. I just display what I want, where I want. I couldn't care less about what the packaging says.

I have tired that, but as my collection got bigger, I tended to find that G1 dosnt sit well with RiD which donst particularly sit well with the Armada Triolgy, and my Cybertron collection is large enough now that I had to find an unused door to use as a table to display em all, lol.
Displays where I mix and match never last long in my room.

I don't seperate my figures into lines. I just display what I want where I want when I want for as long as I want. While the result is undoubtedly a good bit disorganized, it has that mixed universe kind of feel to it, if you happen to be of the mindset that lines or series exist in different versions of the continuity.
That said, I just do what I want with my figures. That's what I find the most fun about being a collector. One the top of my desk I have the G1 and G2 Seekers along with a couple extra (eHobby, etc.) with Computron and Gobot Puzzler standing behind them, along with E-Mirage and Dreadwing. That's madness! The Seekers would attack Computron while the Energon cons did whatever it is they do and Puzzler exists in the dollar store Gobots universe.
Anyway, I'd say if you want to display a figure(s) then do what ever with them that you like best.

I never thought I would see toy segregation in my life. It pains me to see the kind of hatred ad toyism that is happening with the transformers. I though optimus wanted all as a whole not based on color or generation or posability. They need to stand united or what kind of future do they have.

I ususally try to keep repaints of the same molds together. For example, even though it spans 2 or 3 different toy lines, I always have my 6 RID Prowl repaints together.

I keep all my lines separate. The only exception I make is mixing Takara and Hasbro re-issues for display.

Some lines seem tailor-made for mixing. There is no design constant in the Universe line so anything goes. Don't think of it as a green warthog, its a rare Chilean neowarthog! It still works for a display and if anything the Beast Wars were critically short handed. Numbers build armies. 6 Maximals against 6 Preds? That's not a war, that's a gang fight! Classics too is made for expansion. E Superion & Bruticus, Downshift, C Smokescreen all fit as if made to be there.
Now with TFs, I usually break my shelves down by character. I own every version Optimus Prime and Convoy (with the exception of fugly repaints and unneeded store repacks) so they get the top shelf to themselves. Next, a nearly as complete Megatron/Galvatron shelf then Seekers, Soundwave, Magnus/Rodimus, Dinodots. The bottom two are 6" (now pretty much just Classics) and Beast Wars/Machines. Movie is posing some spaceing problems but thats the kind of problem I can live with!
EDIT: Actually, I am missing one Optimus Prime. The Gobot. I just can't bring myself to pay $60 for a hot wheels car! The Gobot Megs I have the packaging Prototype for so that makes up for it!

Space is a problem for me too.I just hit 635 Transformers and I'm trying to find the best way to display them.Right now all my Universe is hidden in the closet or on the shelf behind all my MISB reissues and Alts.I figured if I dispersed the Universe line I might get to enjoy them better,it will be tough to clear a spot to just put them in.I might take a few pics later to show you what im working with.

I put most of my Universe Figures in with their alternative line, mainly because some of my Universe figures were bought as direct stand ins for the figures they originally were. The only 3 exceptions are Silverbolt who stands off to the side as his wing span takes up too much space to fit nicely on my Beasties shelf, and Nemisis Prime and Soundwave who both stand alongside the Turbomasters and Predators.
I also mix and match other lines, I have a (small) shelf of G1 and re-issues, and all my A/E/C figures are all mixed on the same large shelf. My 3" Titanium's share space with my Alternators too.

Awesomesauce; Use it, you know you want to.
