Life size Ravage
Hi, this is my first post and third Kitbash/scratch build ever. He is made from an actual cassette tape casing and plastic sheet with some plastic rod. He actually folds up and fits inside the tape. I have just done his tail and head at the moment, and the head moves as well.

That's really clever. Is it a hard process of cutting out the holes in the cassette without shattering it?
Awesomesauce; Use it, you know you want to.

Heh. This isn't what I was expecting from the thread title... "Life-size Ravage?! Surely that'd be as big as a horse!" Very cool, though. What's next, a working Soundwave Walkman?
I seem to remember someone starting a project like this, a couple of years ago maybe, on Transtopia. It wasn't a Ravage, rather a self-designed humanoid fig. I don't recall it getting very far, though.

I have managed to create one whole leg... it took me about 4 hours but I should be quicker with the others. I use a rotary tool to cut the shell of the cassette and it doesn't seem to cause any problems with the plastic shattering. I have stuck the outer casing of the cassette onto the plastic sheet i used to make the leg, so when he is in cassette mode, the outside looks vaguely normal.
Apologies for the slightly dodgy pictures.

Dude he's looking great!
You do realise though that I now expect you to make a life size Soundwave to accommodate him.

Looking good!
Is there any possible way that these could be made with the tape spools still intact/added back in, to make this an actual working cassette again?
I'd imagine that there isn't, but you never know!

I use a standard cutting disk to cut square shape and then i use a sanding tool to shape the plastic into curves and the like. I also have a smaller tool that has a tiny cutting disk on the end that is small enough to make curves, so i use that where i am trying to maintain the structure around the thing i am cutting, like on the case of the cassette. more pics soon...
p.s. I am starting to think where i can get the bits i might need to male a life size Soundwave, don't think he will actually be able to play tapes though.
Sadly it is pretty much impossible to make it a real working tape again, but i hope to be able to fit the spools inside with a litte tape on them.
My uni term starts next week so it might be a while till i can update it any more

Yeah, I didn't want to be a negative nelly before and say the original ravage actually was life-size. He's a microcassete not a normal sized one.

That point aside, this is an interesting project. Looks like its coming along pretty good so far.
