Movie Voyager Starscream Review

Postby Sportimus Prime » Thu Jun 21, 2007 7:21 pm

Well, I finally found one, and it was the only one on the shelf, so I snagged him. Movie Voyager Starscream. He is much better in RL, than in pictures/YouTube Videos, but he is still not my favorite. That may change in time as he may grow on me. He seems so...fat, or wide, or something. Anyway, on with the review...

Jet Mode:

Sweet!!! He looks a lot like a Raptor. Mostly from the top, pretty much from the side or 3/4 view, and somewhat from underneath (lots of robot kibble). In any case, he looks really good. The paint scheme, though not your traditional SS colors, works rather well, actually. Quite nice.

Robot mode and transformation:

Okay, well transformation is challenging, but is NOT a headache to do, unlike some other movie TF's *cough*Ironhide*cough*. He is comparable to perhaps Ratchet. Not too hard, not too easy, just right. Automorph is pretty neat, and you can really see a lot move and change on him, which is nice. The fins seem to pop off a lot, but what I do is simply keep them to the sides of his head, vertically. It gives him that classic SS look where he has those things on each side of his head. Pretty cool, at least to me. The larger main wings still go to the back, and the others are also over his shoulders. The little fins staying up top eliminates the popping off almost entirely. His legs are a bit too widely spaced apart, which I do NOT care for. Nor do I care for his "wide" upper body. And the poor guy needs hands, no wonder he looks so p*ssed. I would be too. All together, he looks pretty good. Like I said, not my fav, but certainly not bad either. He's worth getting, and I'm looking forward to Thundercracker repaint as well. Hopefully, we'll get a Skywarp in there as well.

Jet Mode: 9/10
Robot Mode: 7.5/10
Transformation: 10/10-yes, a solid, perfect 10, despite the fin issue.

He's pretty bad-arse.

Mine does the same thing. But he aims more at my classic Starscream than me. I think he's jealous or something.

Besides, I like my voyager Screamer. Pics do him no justice, you have to have this toy in person to really appritiate it.

From ToplessRobot.com:• "Watching Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is marginally better than sh***ing your pants, but it takes a lot longer." Very well put.

I concur that the chicken legs that look terrible in pictures are just not a problem in real life. He looks great. The fins do have a tendency to pop off when folding the wings over the back, which is annoying, but my only real criticism is that his shoulders don't connect to his body. Over time, I bet they'll sag.

I'll second that. I like him a lot more than I thought I would.
